GTF out of here. If YOU'RE going to talk about PROPER GRAMMER don't capitalize words in the middle of your sentences. I'm just trying to point out that it is ridiculous for a person with a $5000 car to waste the time and money on a hand wash. Especially when a $10 wash will suffice. BTW I'm only 18, so don't use your ages as an excuse.

Well its not my fault I enjoy taking care of my car. I don't need a car wash to scratch the sh!t out of my car when @ssholes like you do it for me in the parking lot. And, I've figured out that if I got a carwash equivalent to the one I do myself it would cost me as much money as I would make if I had gone to work instead of washing the car. So bite me jackoff.

LOL then why don't you go work at a car wash? I'm not a scumbag like you, so I don't scratch people's cars.

Cause people like you work at car washes. I perfer more dignified work; like helping protect your @ss from terrorists.

Do you want my address so that you can really protect me from terrorists?

I'm willing to sacrifice you.....

And how much does an 18 year old punk ass bitch like you make anyway? Let me know so I can rub it in your face how really poor you are

Don't worry I have enough self-respect not to answer your question. Once I finish college (which I am paid to attend), I'll probably have more savings than you.

You = Teh full of it

Trust-fund baby--second generation wealthy. ;)

Don't worry about him, guys. With the attitude he's displaying now, he's got a severe ass-kicking from real life coming his way. (Sadly, it's the only way some kids ever learn. :( )

Probably right. Its really sad actually, some people work their asses off to get ahead and aquire things such as a modest house and a reliable car, whereas some people have everything just handed to them and have no idea what hard work is, and have no appreciation of what they have.

Thus, they squander it, leaving thier kids right back where their parents started.

The best part of it is, the kids who get it handed to them like to preach about hard work etc etc, when in fact the hardest thing they did was sit around waiting to collect.
Yeah, REAL tough work there......

So, now that that's over, I'm back on topic. (But what's happening to me? I almost never get involved in flame wars.)

Anyway, I do a good "hand job" 2-3 times per year complete with polish/wax and the orbital buffer at my mom or dad's place, take it to the spray-it-yourself place every 3-4 weeks in winter (to spray the sand and salty crud out of the wheel-wells and other places where it collects), and go to the automatic gas station wash in between.

For my 1yr anniversary, I'm going to take my car over to AAA and have them wash/vacuum the car for $8, so it'll be presentable. I have mostly Meguire car detailing stuff, and would like to try using an orbital buffer to wax the car. Would a cheapo $20 machine work? How do you know if the pads need to be changed?

on a 94 Camry, I'd get the carwash... on a car with new, really good paint, I'd do a hand wash. I'm still hand washing my car... also cause it's black and it NEEDS to be hand washed with attention to detail, or it always looks dirty :(

I can't believe so many of you hand wash. I hand wash by beater because it's cheap. I take my nice car to the pressure sprayers.

Hand washing and automatic washes leave scratches.
