heh...yeah...back in high school, I once solved it in 51 seconds (someone else was timing me). And that was on my old cube which didn't move well. ;)

The rubics cube.....
When I was in gradde school I did it under 3 minutes ONCe---but it usually took me about 5.

The ones that I liked more from Rubic's were the Pyramid---and the one called Rubic's Magic (a flat puzzle with Rings drawn on both sides).

I had a very very rare Rubic's Magic ultimate, or some shite like that-----it was silver and about twice the size of Rubic's Magic.....and hard as nuts to solve, unitl my stupid SOB little brother back then broke in to my room and tore it up to hell and back by trying to make teh folds go where he wanted.

Bastich. AT least he busted his head when he tried to run away and "slide" down the stairs when I caught him. Acually---that part makes me laugh still.....I caught him in the room, and saw his path of destruction down to my atom-bombed rubic's prize possession, and I yelled at him with a furor---he laughed and trounced out in a hurry, and was giggling cuz he had socks on and was going to slide down the stairs to get away....he was too busy laughing and his feet got under him and he did about 4 sumersaults down the stairs and landed at the bottom right on his arse.

When he landed----that was the funiest part---he looked to the left and to the right...and his eyes were like tennis balls......and his gesture was that of pure fear.....he wasn't hurt in the slightest but after the shock of landing wore off he cried and cried.

Thansk for the memory. Had to be there I know....but it sure was funny when it happened.

When they were popular back in the day I could solve them. I don't remember what I did, but, I found a patter of moves that would eventually get me to a point where I could solve it. I could solve all the games at that time, but my 4x4 cube broke before I could solve that one, and that one was tough and I was bored with the whole idea so I gave up. But the pyramid was my favorite, that one I solved quite quickly.

I also had the folding one (mentioned above) that one was cool too. 2nd Fav at the time.

Nowadays I'd probably take a long time to solve it.

solve one color side (i always go for blue for some reason) making sure that all the side colors match, then solve the middle layer position edge pieces where they belong, then solving the last layer.

my best friend taught me the first two layers, but when she moved, i had to learn the last by myself. i used this webpage as a reference http://jjorg.chem.unc.edu/personal/monroe/cube/Denny3x3/index.htm

I can do it in about 8 or 9 minutes... the guy who taught me could do it in under a minute.

He could also solve it in about 2 minutes behind his back... no joke I saw it.

I cheated. I had gotten it almost solved, but was stuck. I took the stickers off and replaced them.
