[POLL] Can you dunk?

I vote no. Though I had a friend in HS who could and he was around 5'8"... it was crazy that little ah heck could fly.

Not on regulation height, no. On a good jump I can get my entire hand above the rim, but I can't finish a good solid dunk unless the hoop is a foot lower than regulation.

touching the rim and actually dunking are two very different things. I know you said you need just a bit more, but you probably need a lot more.

Jumping with a ball and without a ball in your hands makes so much difference. I lose so much ups when I'm trying to carry a ball with me.

To answer the question, I'm 6'2" and I can't dunk. Got close but it's so hard jumping while trying to hold/balance a basketball.

You'd be lucky to slide a credit card under my vertical "leap".

i was just going to say the same thing. you need 6 more inches just to touch a 10 foot rim. you probably need another 6 just to get the ball over to dunk it. another 12 inches of vertical leap isn't "just a bit" more 😉

i'm 5'9" and i'm trying to get back into shape where i could grab the rim (in H.S.). dunking would require much more working out and dedication on my part. not impossible, but it'd be a whole lotta work...

Yeah I can now, I'm 6ft 6...although not very well, I blew my knee out jr year of high school and lost about 10 or 12 inches on my vertical. I could jump pretty good for a white guy before that happened, but not anymore :wtc:
