What's COH? I play bf2 at higher settings than those with a 7900GT and it runs really smooth for the most part. I think an X1800XT could probobly do it too.

Company of heroes might not run so great at those settings. My 7900GT slows down in large battle scenes, that game is really detailed. I just started playing it a couple days ago actually.

You're probably right, I've never FRAPS'd when playing but there can be slow downs at times at that rez with everything turned on. OP don't let that discourage you however, great game and once you go widescreen you'll never go back.

CoH is a very graphically intense game. Shadows especially will slow down the graphics... you may get 50+fps avg with some settings tweaking, but I imagine with everything maxed it'll be around 30FPS

i played it a bit on my 40" 1366x768 lcd tv and loved the ws, that is why i am looking at a 1680x1050 panel for my office. i am currently running everything on high with no issues even in the large battles at 1280x1024 (1280x1024 = 1.31M pixels, 1680x1050 = 1.78pixels, so nearly 40% more pixels), so that is good.

i just really don't want to buy a 1680x1050 panel and also a new gpu, especially where we are at now with the 8800gtx out - hopefully somebody will make other next gen cards a bit smaller because a card that big will require a new case. there is the x1950xt 256MB though....and my x1800xt still has a decent resale value (hell, it is only 5mos old)..decisions, decisions

With my 8800GTS, yes. With my X1800XT, no. At least not to my satisfaction anyway. I'm stuck running it a 1280x768 with my widescreen Samsung 225bw.
