😕people i am a rookie when it comes to any modem other than 56k, but seriously thinking
of gong to dsl or cable (both are offered in my area). can any1 tell me the pros & cons of both,
& which 1 do you prefer.🙂
 
It depends on your area mostly, and secondly what you do with it. This is in GENERAL, definitely not a rule:
1. DSL has better pings and faster uploads, better for gaming.
2. Cable has faster DL's and decent pings for gaming.
3. It mainly depends on your providers and your speed, i had cable but switched to dsl cuz i got a very good deal on it.
 
Well, just to prove jmcoreymv's point:

Where I'm at (Fargo ND, Networking capital of BFE) I've consistantly gotten 70K downloads on a base speed Qwest(us-west) DSL line and my buddy on cable-one cable can't even fathom those speeds, but consistantly gets in the 40's (i think)

I'll be getting DSL by the end of October because Qwest is running a killer deal for the equipment I want, and they jcaked the download on the base 256k line to 640 max
