Poll: Burn Proof ... On or Off

Well...I guess a lot of people got in on the iomega deal for the burnproof cdrw.

Now the question is do you set the burn proof to be on or off.

The 12x10x32x Iomega/Sanyo I got it takes about 18 minute to burn at 12x with burnproof meanwhile I have a smart&friendly 6X burner which took about 10 minute to burn the same cd. If I turn the burnproof off I get those stupid buffer underrun error.

Lets hear it, what do you guys do.

i have a 10x4x40x burner with no burn proof and it takes me about 7 min to burn a full cd, and i can do pretty much everything, since it has 8 megs of cache.

18 minutes to burn at 12X ??

Didn't know Burnproof was that much of a slowdown

I have a 8x SCSI HP...about 8 minutes to burn a full cd.

Never a buffer underrun...Go SCSI

I can burn a 10X CD-RW with 70 minutes of audio in ~8 minutes. 12X data discs are comparable. If you're getting such a long time, then something is seriously wrong in your set-up. BURNProof won't slow ya down unles you're getting constant, prolong buffer underruns.

Well, I always turn burn proof on. Even though my Plextor 12/10/32S drive is a scsi one, I just want to make sure I don't make a coaster.🙂

There is something wrong with your computer man. I burn full CDs at 12x with burnproof ON and it takes about 7 minutes. I'd return the drive for another one.

I thought the Burn Proof was always automactically turned on. Where is burn proof turned on or off and What software would that be that allows that?

Nero 5 I think has it always on I thought.

I don't know about EZ CD Creator 4.

Yes, I did set it to burn at 12x.

4824guy you can set burnproof on both Nero 5 and EZCD just check or uncheck the checkbox for burnproof.

Like I said, I've the Iomega/sanyo 12x w/ 2 lights. Anyone else having the same problem with the the iomega/sanyo drive in burning?
