When hell freezes over or when pigs grow wings, whichever is longer! For close to 3 years they have been promising cable and I can't get dsl because they went cheap with the phone lines when they put this development in. I'd say two more years at least.

I have had cable for 3.5 years. My speed is 150k/sec down <1.514 Mbit> and 100k/sec up <1.00 Mbit>. I pay 34.99 in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Cable ethernet from a small locally owned rural cable company called Tvc. It is located between Flint and Lansing Michigan. 1/1 mbit up/down. Since June 2000. We actually had the first operational broadband in The county. Beat comcast@home by 3 months.

Have DSL Deluxe (basic ADSL) and Cisco Router on order from USWest/Qwest, Denver area. Chose ViaWest as the ISP, we've had them as our dialup provider and being able to keep them sort of pushed us over the top to DSL. they've been very good....

First, I'm in Los Angeles, Cali. Secondly, I had DSL with EarthLink via GTE CO (approximately 3,000ft. from the CO), thinking I would have very good pings in online games. When I first got it back in December `99, it was the bomb, I was getting 30-50 pings to lots of servers. But then something happened in February, and my pings doubled and even tripled so that it was a rare occasion when I'd see double digit pings. After bitching for quite a while, and having the EL and GTE techs act like I'm crazy and I don't know what I'm talking about, I switched to AT&T RoadRunner, and I could not be happier. 14-40ms pings to hundreds of servers, 180-220KB/sec down and 36KB/sec up. I will never be suckered into residential ADSL again!
