I'm getting a new monitor(Viewsonic P817) with BNC support and I would like to hear your comments about BNC, quality, and any other info I need to know. What are your recommendations(Under $50)?

Also, I have a V5 5500AGP and H+ DVD decoder. Will I be able to hook the BNC cable from my monitor to my V5 and DSUB from my monitor to the H+ and have both work together? The reason I ask this is because I hate the fact that the H+ bypass cable makes my video output look so bad. So what I've been doing was to remove the bypass when I'm not watching dvds :|

dl: I'd definitely go for a BNC cable from UltraSpec cables, but that'd be kind of expensive. I also bought a Belkin Pro BNC cable but I no longer need it, (it's in brand new condition, I used it for 2 days until I splurged for the UltraSpec) so if you would like to buy that let me know and we can work something out.

The problem with the H+ card and your secondary input is that DVD video needs to be overlayed on top of the video display, so there's no way around that - it needs to go into your video card. I tried messing around with my G400 DualHead with the H+ but it didn't work either.

I ended up returning the H+ - I had a 800mhz computer back then, didn't really need the H+ so I don't even know why I bought it.

Here u go

I too would like to know what the difference is as ive just ordered a 2nd hand Matrox G200 PCI to go in Dual display with my GF2 MX 🙂

Im goin to connect the GF2 AGP with the HD15 to HD15 on the back of my monitor.
Connect the G200 with the HD15 to BNC to the same monitor also.
Change primary display on the fly as u can do hopefully with win2k?
Change the input on my Sony G400PST to which input is set as the primary display.
Great gaming and great 2D for surfing all being well 😀

rockhard =)

I've heard that they only help for higher than 1024x768 resolutions...

Also, video cards today have such high video bandwidths that bnc does not really help..

can anyone confirm this???

dl: yeah, rockhard's link is my cable.

I don't agree with that - there's a difference between d-sub and BNC, for sure, especially at resolutions above 1280x1024 @ 85hz and above.

dl, the high video bandwidth is what dictates the BNC connectors. Other connector types attenuate the higher frequency signals. The high frquencies are what produce the sharpness in text and video.
