Poll: Blockbuster or Netflix.

now that blockbuster offers the unlimited plan, albeit a little more than what netflix is asking, which do you find to be the better deal?

right now, i think blockbusters 2 at a time for $24.95 is the best deal.

BB offers a 3 at a time for $29.99. However, there might not be a reason to go higher than 2 with BB simply because a lot of people can drive to one in 10-15 minutes or less.

The only way I can get value out of Netflix is if I do the 5 at once plan because it takes about 5 days turnaround for me.

seeing as a lot of people here don't like to go outside, I'm gonna guess netflix will win this one. 😉

Best Buy has a pathetic selection and does not offer the freedom pass locally.

Im assuming Best Buy is a typo for Blockbuster. Blockbusters Movie Pass was in 1,500 test markets. Its going nation wide and will be avalible in every store by the end of June.

They will be rolling out a mail service, and other services, by years end.

Netflix will win because of convenience and selection. I have 3 Blockbusters within 10 minutes. I have been to all 3 several times and recall frequently walking out without anything. Not because I've seen everything, but because they didn't have what I wanted at that time. If I did select a movie then waiting in the lines were terrible. Sometimes 15 to 30 minutes most afternoons. With Netflix you basically choose your queue and just sit back and let the movies come. Yes, the movies might take longer to arrive but at least I don't waste time at Blockbuster.

Only positive thing about the Blockbuster plan for me is new releases since Netflix is always bogged down when something new pops up. Then again I'm not the type to desperately need to see a movie as soon as its out and it's no big deal for me to see it a week or two later.

local store that rents em for a dollor a night for new releases as well as oldies and dvds and he has every new release an oldy there is, so i shop there, dont deal with either of those listed. my only complaint about the place i rent from is i feel like im gonna get lung cancer whenever i go in there

i dropped my netflix account last week. found out today that the blockbuster 2 miles from my house offers this service.

totally depends.

If it's just you that rents movies, and you don't care when you watch them, then netflix is cheaper + more convienant.

if you have siblings or parents that want to watch movies too, and you need movies spur of the moment, then blockbuster is much better.

Personally I dropped netflix for blockbuster 2 months ago

i takes me 10 seconds to rent a movie from netflix and 30+ minutes to rent one from blockbuster, IF there's no line.

the downside is the lack of instant gratification, but i'm willing to sacrafice it.

i understand that netflix offers a much wider selection but watching 24 or Alias without the next disc in hand just kills me.

<-- needs instant gratification. 🙂

it takes you 10 seconds to SELECT one NOT rent one. rent would include delivery time.

I just think you can get so much more for your money with Blockbuster's plan. I guess that doesn't count for those of you who have 1 day turnaround times, but I'm sure that 90% of the people on Netflix are not that lucky.

What the hell kind of blockbuster do you have that you have to wait 15 to 30 minutes in line?????

I have netflix, but go to blockbuster occasionally if there is something I really want to see that night. But 99.9% of the time, I wait in line less than 2 minutes. Sometimes that's a lot better than waiting 3 days for a Netflix movie. I'd probably switch to this BB monthly plan when it becomes available here, but the nearest blockbuster is 15 miles away, so it would cost me almost 5 dollars just for gas to drive there and back.

😱 Now all they need to do is have a larger selection
