I'm finishing up a review right now, but was so bored that I created a poll. Pick who you think is the best overall shooting guard this year, and if you want tell us why. :)

Cuttino Mobley is better than at least 6 of the guys on that poll.

I'm not saying he is the best, but he is better than 6 of those guys on the poll.

Kobe is the man. I don't think there's another player in the NBA that wants to be the best so badly, and isnt' afraid to show it. I think that's why lots of people dislike him.

btw, you should put an "I don't know/show results" option so people dont' just randomly vote to see the results.

Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady are very close, too close to call,

but because of Bryant's defensive skills, I'm picking Kobe.

Yeah, good call.

I agree. Though, he wants to win more than he wants to be the best player in the NBA.

However, you are right in the sense that Kobe can turn it up (god knows he has this year) on command. Need I say more than his NBA record 12 3-pointers last week (including an NBA record 9 in a row) among other impressive performances (I believe he leads in league in triple doubles this season?).

My exact thinking. :D Couldn't have said it better myself.

Maybe not this year...but for a long time it was Reggie Miller (of course, not counting MJ)...now he's more leading the team than leading in scoring...but he is a definite hall-of-fame player....

And he just became only the 4th player to play 1200 games with the same team...

In Indiana, we love him!

I give Kobe the nod over McGrady because of passing, defense, and the 'clutch' factor.

But I can't believe McGrady has only 9% of the vote.

And I believe you forgot Jalen Rose. I wouldn't even consider voting him the best, but he's better than some on that list (Penny, Maggette, etc.).

McGrady has defensive skills. He just chooses not to use them because he is lazy so I agree with your choice. I had to choose MJ though...

Kobe, by far. Defense, clutch shooting, leadership, drive to be the best, he has it all. 5 triple doubles already this year too.

Yeah, I'll definitely add Jalen.

Not quite, all he does is shoot less now. He still just stands around waiting for the ball, and occasionally the fake flop.
Through his career, all he did was run around screens and shoot when open.
He is a pure shooter, that did not have the skills to create his own shot.
He is going to the HOF because of his excellent shooting skills, and clutch shooting... nothing more.

Ray Allen is highly underrated. He has an excellent all-around game.
He can shoot, dribbe, drive and finish.
His size is what hinders him from becoming a great player. His lack of height and strength hinders his ability to post up as well as Kobe, MJ, Pierce and T-Mac.

My ordering would be Kobe, T-Mac (close 2nd), Pierce, and Ray Allen, MJ.
The rest are all about equal level (Stackhouse, Finley, Rose, Houston, Jones, Mobley - in no specific order).

I thought Jalen Rose plays SF, kinda like how Spreewell moved from his natually SG position to SF.

Who can carry the team on his back and who can't? McGrady has no Shaq...
