Ginos East is the BEST. Giordano's is 2nd at best.


BUT, one really should consider NY style pizza and Chicago style pizza as the same dish, they are as different as lasagna and spaghetti are.

Not that you guys care what I think but:

Chicago - Never liked any I had there, sorry.

NYC - Vastly overated.

The best? Local one of a kind Mom and Pop shops NO matter where they are. Have had great Pizza in Boston, Ca. (Lousy steaks though) Great Pizza in KC and even Tulsa.

i prefer local mom and pop columbus ohio pizza, thin crust, but not too thin, kind of chewy and crispy at the same time. i think good new york pizza is like that so i voted ny. the fluffy stuff chains sell is too insubstantial, chicago pizza is ok but isn't that much like pizza, its more like a casserole.

My all time favorite:

Godfathers before it became a chain and was on the second floor of a movie theater in Lincoln, Nebraska and then locations in Omaha. Although there was a place in Merced, California that........

Please, let's leave Pizza Snot and Papa Pukes out of this. Just because what they sell resembles pizza, does not mean that it is in fact pizza.

Personally, I prefer Chicago-style. Deep dish, toppings 2 inches deep... mmm... where a pizza pie is really a pizza pie!

I ate at this WONDERFUL pizza place in New York a few years ago. I can't remember the name, but it was in Soho. It was rated #1 pizza in NY or something. The mozzarella thickly covered the top, and the pizza itself was neither deep dish or thin crust. It was awesome.
