What the hell why not, with all the cool racing games out lets vote for the best one.

 • Act Labs Force RS
 • Guillemot Race Leader
 • Interact V4 Racing Wheel
 • Logitech WingMan Formula Force
 • Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel
 • ThrustMaster Force GT
 • ThrustMaster NASCAR Pro Digital 2
 • ThrustMaster Ferarri wheel

My vote goes to the Sidewinder.

I have the Microsoft FF Wheel and am pretty happy with it, but I also tried the Logitech and like its smoothness. Never tried the other ones, though...

[Edit] - SENIOR!

My dad's got the sidewinder and I've got the logitech. My preference goes to the logitech. It's FF is not as powerful but more realistic feeling and smoother on the turning spring.

Only prob I've had is getting it to work consistently in win 2000. Doesn't seem to like it unless I unplug my sidewinder gamepad.

I don't want a wheel with FF!

But if I had to chose I would take the Logitech, that's also the brand I would chose for my non FF wheel 🙂

<edit>
This is the FF wheels I have tried(not just in the store):
Interact V4 Racing Wheel
Logitech WingMan Formula Force
Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel
ThrustMaster Force GT

I am very happy with my MS Sidewinder FF wheel. I could easily recommend it.

However, this is the only FF wheel I've used, so I really don't have anything to compare it to.

The Logitech FF wheel seems to get better reviews, for what that's worth.

Logitech, baby! The Microsoft feels like it's having a seizure. Logitech has more subtle cable-pull effects.

the MS wheel is way to tight, I tried with a few games, i Dont like having to break the wheel when trying to turn.

Don't ever get the Guillemot Ferrari FF Wheel. First of all there's still no W2K driver for it. Second here's what they post in there forums

The Graphics, Hercules, and Accessories sections on the Guillemot forum are closing.
Please post all future video related messages on the new Hercules forum at www.hercules.com. Please post all future accessories related messages on the new Thrustmaster forum at www.thrustmaster.com. The Sound forum will remain on the Guillemot web site. These changes will be officially in effect on Monday, June 26th, 2000.

That's billshit. The wheel is from Guillemot and now they are shifting responsibily somewhere else.

ACT Labs Force RS - Love Mine.

Don't forget that the RS is modular - can add the shifter & also can buy extra connector packs (think they're about $25) to connect to a ps or dreamcast (& probably ps2 - check www.act-labs.com).

I think Guillemot bought Hercules and Thrustmaster. So supposedly they are reorganizing things to support their customers better?

Darkman, don't forget it's all adjustable.

Return to Center Tension, Force Feedback Level, Dead Zone, Sensitivity, etc...

I agree that on the highest settings it's too much, and too "seizure-like" (to borrow relyt's term 😉).

well, the reason the sidewinder is so popular is the driver thing, you know that all games support it, and every MS OS works with it...

Well I have the guillemot race leader and I am happy with it...has very strong effects like if you are driving on a rough wood surface in nfs5 with the feedback to 100% there's an eartquake in the room...I haven't try other wheels though...Paldo do you judge a product by what's happening in the company's site?that's weird to say the least...

Hmm sorry I guess I was mistaking...what I have is the Guillemot Ferrari Force Feedback Racing Wheel witch is quite diffrent from race leader I suppose...it cost me 125 bucks, not much less than the logitech one..

I will make your decision final. Get the ACT LABS.

I have tried and tested all of them that you listed, cept for that Guillimont one, and well the MS one and the Logitech one comparedt ot he Act Labs have no competition... ACT LABS wins hands down.

The ACT LABS is for serious people though, and its priced that way, but well worth it. And as another person posted earlier, you can get a seperate gear shifter if you really want that type of full "realistic" setup, however you can still gear shift with the steering wheel using F1 style toggle switches behind the wheel itself, very cool if you ask me 🙂

Go get the ACT LABS if you want "the best"
but id have to make a 2nd suggestion of the Logitech if you want to go with something a bit less expensive.

The Guillemot Ferrari Force Feedback wheel is generally considered to be the best by the fans at http://www.alphaf1.com/gp3/. These people are very adamant about good physics and a realistic simulation, and the general consensus there is that the Ferrari wheel is excellent. The only complaints are generally that the pedal base is too light, and not designed as well as it could be, and that the paddle shifters are squishy.

And do you honestly think Ferrari would let their logo be placed on an inferior product?

I've also read/heard that the ACT-Labs wheel is very good, with complaints about the paddle shifters too.

I've got to get an FF wheel before GP3 comes out, so I'm very interested in what people have to say here. I'm surprised to hear so many good things about Microsoft's offering--I expected it to get trashed.

Does Microsoft also make a Steering Wheel that does not have the Force Feedback? CompUSA is advertising one today, for $49.00 after rebate. Anyone know which it is?

I am seriously considering getting the Act Labs. However, how is support in different games? I have heard there is not support for the shifter in NFS3? Also, is there anywhere with a better price on it or is the best price direct?
