Yea I used to listen to Melloncollie.. nonstop back in the day, thought Billy Corgan was a god or something. Then I a few years later I finally picked up Siamese Dream and yes, it's confirmed, Billy Corgan is god. After hearing Siamese Dream though Melloncollie just doesn't really seem all that special anymore though.

i'm going through itunes ranking all my songs... i got to siamese dream and almost every song was 4 or 5 stars. silverf@ck is one of my all time favorites.

i just pulled up cherub rock... good stuff.

way to have anything made after 1975

my favorite double LP is smashing pumpkin's siamese dream.

my favorite triple LP is mellon collie and the infinite sadness.

I do believe The Wall was released in 1979. So there.
Mellon Collie is good, but not as good as The Wall.

I voted "The white album", with the wall, and physical graffiti running a close second.

I think some of the suggestions on here must be from thos under 21. Outkast?!?!? I have great respect for them, but in 30 years will anyone listen to them? The White album is timeless. It still sells a ton every year. In fact I bet more copies of the white album get sold this coming year than speakerboxxx.

melloncollie marked the beginning of the end for the SP. a few good songs, but mostly dreck,IMO.

I don't give a fvck about how many are sold, in 30 years I'm sure I'll still like to listen to Speakerboxxx. And yea I'm under 21, and yea I think I have pretty damn good taste in music too.

I'm not saying I would choose Use Your Illusion over obvious classics like the White Album or The Wall but I feel it's worthy enough of an album to at least be on the list.

Hey - it wasn't meant as a jab at you. Most young people don't have an understanding of time. You'll go thru sevearl phases, and understand how your perspective changes as time goes on. (that probably doesn't make much sense, I'm not to good at explaining abstract priciples on message boards). Also, outkast (even to an old fart like me) makes GREAT music - I said above, I have great respect for them - I think andre is awesome. However, that album didn't, doesn't, and won't have the impact and timelessness of the White Album, NOT EVEN CLOSE. That's a HUGE undertaking, it may never happen. It's a different time. Different circumstances.

I voted Tommy only because I am really into it right now. Six months ago I would have said London Calling and six before that, The White Album.

I think in a year I will say The White Album again. Great piece of work, its only problem is it's all over the place. Glass Onion followed by Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da... WTF!?!

That's why I voted for The Wall. It's got a very cohesive feel to it that the White Album lacks (for well known reasons).

In my experience, hip-hop really does not age well.
