You guys do realize that a young Jimmi Hendrix played with Little Richard, and used to go and listen to the current blues players- Most notably Buddy Guy (who's still alive and considered by many to be one of the best living players). Jimmi stole much of his technique and stage antics from Buddy, including the guitar behind the head thing, and his wah-wah pedal thing too.
That said, if you guys are really into hearing the roots of many of these players I highly recommend the Atlantic Blues Guitar Greats CD, which has some amazing players on it. T-Bone Walker deserves much credit as he was responsible for inspiring many of the great blues guitarists, who in-turn are much responsible for American popular music as a whole.
