i would say thats the biggest cult movie. thats the only one i know of that had a bunch of crazies acting it out on friday nights below the screen at midnite in my town. went on until a few years ago. very.....wierd.

Good question.

It all depends what the definition of "Cult Movie" is.

I would say:

Cult Movie - A movie which was unsuccessfull in box office, but very popular in VHS or DVD.

But

What if a successfull movie in the box office is popular to a generation of people that only have seen it on VHS or DVD?

in this case "Top Gun", and "War Games" could be considered a "Cult Classic" right?
