***Poll*** Beer in general. Ale or Lager?

I prefer the lagers I make, but I can only make them in the winter (like now) because as you know they have to be done in a much cooler area.. I usally make ales in the summer. (9 months out of the year)
 
I generally prefer Ales (which is how I voted), particularly IPA's, Ambers (drinking a MacTarnahan's right now 🙂 ), Stouts (long live Guinness), and Porters, but I do enjoy a good Pilsner from time to time. A really good clean Pilsner is like drinking the world's most refreshing water...

Hell, I just like good beer 😀

amen to that
after converting ones beer taste into REAL beer, stuff like MIller Lite and Bud Lite can be drank for breakfast
 
Hmmm, that's a tough one...I like both.
Depends alot, if having it for dinner, I definately prefer a Czech lager.
When Im in a pub..it's a tossup though, I usually mix during the evening.

For example, this monday, I was in a bar that has something like 150 kinds of beer, plus a bunch of "specials", so there's alot of choices.
IIRC I drank about 5 of each in no particular order, I just like to drink different kinds 🙂

Well said. I usually lean towards ales, but man, a good pilsner is nice on a hot day.

Anyone know if Sierra Nevada celebration is any good? I was going to pick that up yesterday..instead i bought Hornsby's Apple cider. Yuck!
Also, there was a 4 pack of Sam Smith Oatmeal stout or something like that priced at $9.99 !!! is that any good ?

All beers/lagers/ales etc make me want to vomit even if I only have a sip.
I can drink shandy, just not anything else.
 
Only ales I really like are brown ales like Newcastle or the darker IPA's like Bass. The lighter ones are too bitter for my taste.

I'll prefer stouts and porters and the double & triple bocks.

But, I can drink just about anything though. I'm the anti-beer snob.

It's not the greatest but it was free. 😛
There are many great beers out there just as you said. An ice cold Pilsner on a hot day is great just as a nice tasty Ale with steak is.
