When I was banned for a week, I could view threads, but not post. I imagine that this is common.

A rule of thumb I have learned over time:
Don't say anything that would make a super-conservative old generation middle school teacher upset over if students says it in their conversation. Remember the good old days when they will got ticked off and says JOHN DOE TO THE OFFICE! with a written referrel stating "Dear Principal, I have personally heard my student John Doe say *whatever word* in my class I am sending him in for five day noon detentions". Apparently course of action is totally dependent on teacher's mood and how well they like the student. They usually make you help the janitor and I can see why. The district is always short on money and detention is just another excuse for them to get free labor.

I got sent to office last year for eating Airheads in class when my sociology teacher was in bad mood. :|
