I'm 19, been driving since 16 and have always had the same rate of $50/month or so for comprehensive on my 91 Accord. Clean record and some good student discount stuff.

State Farm is the best. We have several lines of discounts applied to our car insurance such as homeowners insurance, term life on both of us, and both of our cars. Mine is $58/mo and hers is $53/mo, which are both comprehensive plus hail damage. We couldn't believe how cheap it was for us being pretty young and owning two 2007 vehicles, but it is. 0 accidents or tickets between the two of us (that were our fault) probably helped as well.

I just got a quote out of curiosity and it would be 320/month for myself with a basic plan, which demonstrates why I don't drive. I don't have any accidents or tickets, but I'm 24 and live in a large city, so I mostly take public transport of borrow my mom's car when I need it (I pay 80/month as a secondary driver for that).

Edit: I just compared a few other places, most want around 450/month, which is just plain insane IMO.

WTH, do most of you guys live out in the boonies? I have no tickets, no accidents, and my rate is higher. I live in Sacramento too, so it's not a large city.
