i would say yes... big technology geek (hdtv, computers, pc, cellphones, cars, etc)... starwars fanatic... video game junkie... 1337 tattoed on my arm (yes, for real)...

but the sad part is... i don't have a pocket protector... i do have the latest and greatest whatever... and i try to go out every thursday, friday and saturday...

guess, i would classify my self as a social geek that has a life...

No pocket protector here, but I don't know anybody IRL with the slightest interest in computers. I'm a one-man IT department at the company I work for. Most people I know are white middle-aged minivan drones who are annoyed and threatened by computers.

On the other hand, I'm not constantly under siege by AMD fanboys ragging on Intel/Dell or talking for hours about RAM timings either, so being the World's Lonliest Geek has it's advantages.

We go to Best Buy last night getting a memory card for someone and I wander over to the game section to see if they have BFME2 (they didn't BTW). So I'm there for a couple minutes and my wife comes walking over and says "You're kind of a nerd". Me "Huh"? Her "Look at the other people in this aisle". There were a couple scrawny twelve year olds with greasy hair checking out a copy of HL2 and some fat old guy looking at Sims2 or something.
