Yeah, 99% of the time they're jackasses, but I've seen black people, white people and asian people who do the whole sideways cap, baggy pants, Fubu shirt thing.
Most of the black people I know are not like that.

Nope. I'm Asian-Pacific. But, I hardly fit the stereotypes that's associated with being one.... I drive a domestic sedan and minivan, I like guns, I listen to mostly alternative music (even though my 8-year old think I'm too old for it), and despite being 40 years old, I can hold my own quite well when playing front yard basketball with the neighborhood teens. Having been a navy brat, I got used to meeting different people of different races at an early age.
Having become a successful weatherman and living in a nice home in a nice neighborhood, I felt compelled at times to help those less fortunate than I, and I do. But, make no mistake, I'm quite aware that there are those people who resent my kind. I don't hate them or anything. I just avoid them and make sure I'm well equipped to handle any situation.....
I don't really have any stereotypes although my mom did have a few. I do have a beef with those who abuse the welfare system. Several years ago, I was in a Lucky supermarket in Florida. My cart had maybe 14 or 15 small items on it. I was walking to the checkout counter when a big lady with two carts overflowing with groceries cut me off. I'm sure she knew I had much less groceries than her's. But, she ignored me anyway. I let it go seeing that she's paying with foodstamps. I thought nothing more of it until I saw the same lady loading her groceries in a brand-spanking new Lexus....I just had to shake my head.....

Hey fredtam did you get that from Eric Raymond? He caught a lot of flack for his blog entry that reads the same as your statement pretty much. It goes on to say that the "average IQ of African blacks is not far above what is considered the threshold of mental retardation in the US. And yes, it's genetic; seems to be about 85% heritable"

We are different in appearance so it is only reasonable to expect some are further developed with respect to general intelligence. Whites have higher instances of many cancers where Blacks have sickle cell so we must think that there is a difference with other parts of the body (brain).
A very large amount of the famous scientists and mathematicians from the period of mid 1800s to mid 1900s were Ashkenazic Jews too which kind of reinforces what Eric said.

No didn't get it from there. There are quite a few studies on the subject most of which are a little old. You can find more in the book The Bell Curve. It is not PC to have such theories and there are always people that will say the test are flawed. You can read arguments against the results in The Mismeasure of Man.
