I'm proud of my country when my country acts in ways to make me proud, which isn't often lately. Flying a flag and putting "support the trroops" magnets everywhere is just the redneck way of saying "I support Bush" IMO.

I'll hang my head in shame until American stands up for it's beliefs; not torture, not invading countries with hype, not giving money to the rich while the poor grow in numbers, etc.

White is for right and purity

Today the flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, seven red alternating with 6 white. The stripes represent the original 13 colonies, the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.

I guess you should go find an 8 year old boy scout to explain it to you!

GWB's administration is antithesis to all the above. The spin they add to their brand of corruption is all smoke and mirrors.

Spin = symbolism. Like any flag is symbolism of any country. All can be corrupted by uncouth scoundrels.

Give me the constitution any day. Can't be corrupted--it can be changed and abused--but not corrupted.

Since it's "Faith" a word NOT synonomous with "Fact" it needs to be left out of politics. People who use the invisible man to sway people into voting their way have to resort to that because of a bad idea they are supporting in the first place.

Definitely. I served a term in the military, I have studied American history and believe I have a fairly good grasp of the intent, I believe in the Constitution and intent over the administration and the implementation, I support dissent and individuality, etc. I'd say I firmly support the theory of America, even when I disagree totally with the implementation of America.
