in an economy like today's, a lot of people are not getting paid what they deserve.

however, i'm sure there's still a lot of people being OVERpaid to do something simple.
or perhaps a lot of people have jobs which require them to sit there and surf the web, basically getting paid to browse the internet or chat on aim.

where do you stand?

Given the economy I would have to say that I am overpaid.

The new hires doing basically the same job as me get like $9 an hour, I make almost $14.

Given the area I cover, number of users/equipment I take care of, the overtime I put in, and hastles I put up with, I'm am rather underpaid. I'm basically doing the job of about 2-3 people. And getting paid roughly the same as one of them.

For now.

Annual review with a big raise request going in on Friday.

It'll help improve things a bit assuming I'm approved for it, which I don't see as a problem.

I'm underpaid.

My official title = "IS Technician"

My old boss quit, I took on his duties plus all my previous. No raise or promotion yet.

About what I deserve, but as my experience grows, the pay does not. People with experience are only getting a few thousand more per year than I am, and I just graduated last year. Therefore, experienced people leave.

I'd say that I'm fairly compensated at my current jobs (TA and university computer lab consultant), especially considering that I'm on scholarship so I don't have to pay tuition. The pay is pretty low, but the jobs are friggin' easy.

Yea, I seriously can do nothing and still get paid. It's all in how reliant the company is on you. Maybe I'm underpaid but I have no pressure when I work, I dunno. I'm grateful for my job.

Small towns almost always pay less. Lower cost of living.

Underpaid. I'm sure most of you saw my post before. I'm not badly paid just underpaid for my responsibilities, OT I put in and contribution to the firm. Most of the shareholders see it but my immediate boss doesn't.

Still happy I can provide for my family but that means I get nothing.

I'm underpaid for sure. I should be making at least $10/hour if not $12. Granted its only retail but it sucks when I'm "in charge" of my side of the store but I get no recognition for it at all. I'm on leave right now from there and I know that they are definately missing me. I can do just about any job in that place and thats way beyond my job description. I learned how to do more by myself and it just comes back to bite in the rear because I am now expected to do these new tasks.

Underpaid as hell. I make 5.75/hr... been working their two years. The last couple weeks I've been so damn busy doing the work of a total THREE people. I did hundreds of $ of work for free pretty much. :disgust:

Underpaid. My boss died at the begining of the year and I took on all his responsibilities plus more since I don't have help that's as good as what he had. That will be changing very soon though. I'm basicly the only one keeping my company afloat because nobody else there knows wth is going on so I pretty much hold all the cards. I've been patient with them for a while since they're recovering from a very bad year but I'm begining to lose my sense of humor about my pay.

Underpaid big time. I recently got a massiave raise (18.4%) because a new guy was hired doing the same position as me and he was hired on making 18.4% more than me. It's great they gave me a raise, but I was making way too little to begin with. So now I'm making the same as some guy that just started, and I;ve been there for 3+ years. Plus, I do way more than anyone there.
