After you die your spirit/aura/whatever leaves your body, I'm assuming.

You no longer have a use for your organs, why not donate them?

My wife and I are organ donors as designated on my Oregon state drivers license and her Oregon state ID.

Sign up to be an Organ Donor

My parts are too old, who would want an eye for transplant that has cataracts ?

Exactly!

And if you are NOT an organ donor, why?

Religion?

You plan on re-harvesting your organs in your afterlife?

You plan on spending $200,000 to be cryogenically frozen and be revived in 100 years?

I am and it kills me to see people who are willing to accept a donated organ but will not donate their own. :(

I never thought of it that way.

Thanks for that insight.

You can do it cheeper if you just freeze your brain. Then they will rebuild the rest of your body.

My cousin died in a car wreck a year ago March 15th. She was an organ donor, and they were able to use many of her organs. It's kind of neat to think a part of her is still living with someone else. It's hard to lose a loved one, but there's somewhat of a silver lining to it when you think their untimely passing was a blessing to someone else, whose life was saved.

I've made it clear to my parents that if I die I want my organs to be donated and when I get my license in a couple of weeks I'll note my status on that also
I wasn't a hard decision for me at all, it was more like the obvious choice. I don't see the point in keeping them after I don't need them anymore so why not give them away, especially because there are so many who could use them

Yup. If I'm going into the medical profession, why not give some more stuff for my colleagues to play around with when I'm gone, eh? :D

I will be again when they dont go to criminals. That includes ILLEGAL aliens.

Donating blood has begun to bother me. I like the idea of helping people, like a policeman shot in the line of duty. I dont like the idea that the criminal that shot the policeman may get my blood, and it might save his life.

When they remove the organ, to they just shove some packing peanuts in the hole? I mean at a funeral it would be funny to see someone w/o any organs...

Just because I'm an organ donar AFAIK I cannot be used for a cadavour to be played with unless I specifically state it somewhere.

Only if yo specify and most cards don't give you this option. It's read usually "orgams and tissues" which means anything they want they can have in it's entirety. But perhaps I should look into a custom card for just my vital useful organs:)

Oh well. I'll stop thinking about that now and hopefully my organs could be used instead of being a science experiment, but actually I hope they can't be used because 90 year old organs aren't so good and I wanna live for ever!~!!
