I'm brand loyal, as long as that brand has something to be loyal about. I used to like Asus boards, back in the TX97/P2B days. But then the P5A just left a nasty taste and I left and found Epox for thier 8KTA3. Matrox is good for what I do, but I can't recommend them for everyone because most everyone on these boards wants them for something that I don't do.

im not a fanboy when it comes to CPUs, however i am VERY brand loyal for motherboards. Its Asus or nothing, iver had too many problems with every single manufacturer out there except Asus. This includes Epox, MSI, ECS, Amptron, Gigabyte, Tyan, and Abit.

Not really. Sure I'd lean towards a nissan vehicle but honestly I'd consider the competition as well.

And for anything else I'll buy whatever is cheaper/best at that time. Loyalty in consumer goods is really sidestepping the point of capitalism IMO.

I did vote yes, because once I find a product or service that I'm happy with at a reasonable price, I tend to buy it again and again.

That doesn't happen for no good reason though. I'm certainly open to brands other than the one I bought last. I compare, ask questions, research stuff online, check Consumer Reports, and maybe try several different brands. If a promising new brand (or generic) shows up, you can bet I'm going to check into it, and maybe even buy it.

For lots of types of things, there will be several brands/off-brands that I've found to be acceptable and would purchase regularly, depending on the sale price/price per unit. I'm the guy you see shuffling through a handful of coupons and using the cell-phone calculator to help me decide which brand of cat litter, garbage bags, toothpaste, or deoderant. (Degree and Mitchum are my two deoderant brands, I've tried dozens of others).

i'm not a fanboy but i do find that when i go to buy something, often the brand i've bought before offers the best product again. but if it doesn't, i have no qualms buying from someone else.

Just because you prefer one brand over another doesn't make you a fanboy.
Definition of a fanboy is someone who always supports, recommends, buys, defends a particular brand or company without objectively looking at the merits and drawbacks of each side.
Right now, I'm a big fan of ATI.
That doesn't make me a fanboy because my preference is based on the performance of their current products.
The people who were dissing the 9700 Pro when it was released and prasing the FX line when it was released simply because they loved NVidia and disliked ATI are fanboys.

There are brands that I like, but I might not necessarily buy them because there are more expensive compared to some other brand that offers more bang for the buck. I personally like:

Diesel shoes (expensive but my current pair has been great)
AMD
Nissan
Toshiba
Panasonic

Well..those are the brands that I prefer when going shopping, but I am always willing to try something new if its a good value :)

While I wouldn't buy a desktop CPU from Intel for personal use (at least not from the PIV line), I have recommended Pentium-M based notebooks to acquaintances, and if I were to buy a notebook PC for myself it would most likely be a Pentium-M. But I have actually been seriously considering the G4 iBooks after all the good things I've heard about the new OS. So I guess that makes me a partial fanboy.

As for graphics, I used to own a GeForce 2 GTS and for the longest time would not consider ATi cards because of their poor driver support. Then ATi turned things around with the 9500/9700 line, and I had no problems switching over to a 9500 Pro. No regrets, either.

I will never buy noname parts, and while some may think that attitude is a little snobbish, I think in the long run you end up saving money when you buy quality products at a premium price.

Oh, and cars = VW (I'm European!)

I'm not really much of a fan boy. I just buy whateve is cheapest/best quality/bang for the buck... I like AMD because they're cheaper than Intel. I like PCs because they're cheaper than Macs (and Mac fan boys are annoying). I have a couple pairs of Sennheiser headphones... but that's cuz of price/performance as well.
