more PC would be, "are you brand loyal?"

seems like most ppl are.
they will defend their brand no matter how crappy a product they put out.

im in the middle.

but i like price / performace ratio a bit more.

honestly .. the last 3 computers i've bought have been with ATI cards
3 of the 4 computers in my house are AMD
i suggest ATI cards to my friends.
i suggest P4 3GHZ C to a friend for top of the line CPU.

a bit of a fanboy but i feel they offer the best price / performace.

I'm value concious... if one brand or manufacturer consistantly provides a better value than others, then yes, I'm a fanboy of that company =)

If one brand has consistantly shown to be better than another brand (for a particular item) - then I'm pretty loyal (for that particular item). Take cereal for example. Find your favorite box cereal and a knockoff bag cereal that is supposed to be similar. Sure the box cereal costs twice as much - but if the bag cereal tastes like utter crap I'm sticking with my favorite cereal. Salt on the other hand I don't care one bit about. One companies salt is exactly the same as another companies salt (assuming we are comparing the same crystal sizes). Thus I always buy the cheapest salt - regardless of the label. So at times I'm brand loyal, and at other times I could care less.

No, not at all.
If I have had good experience with a particular company, I will tend to look at that company first when considering another purchase. But I will always comparison shop to see who currently has the best product at the best price.
I was a big fan of AMD with the Athlon and Athlon XP series, and I'm rooting for them to do well with the 64. But if I had bought a new PC 6 months ago, I would have been getting a P4.
I was alsow a big NVidia fan.
But I would definitely buy ATI if I was upgrading right now.

i'm an amd fanby, i've never bought an intel processor in my life.
up until i bought my radeon 9800 pro, i'd never bought an Ati product (all Nvidia).
I"m also very, very partial to MSI motherboards, although I still consider other options when buying one.

I am a fanboy of the following brands:

Nissan (although I'm really getting to like Subaru lately)
Canon
Logitech
Dell
Dr. Martens
Mossimo (Target brand clothes)

I'm a fanboy for sure:

Honda
Canon (digicams)
Apple Computer
Nike
Steve Madden (shoes)
Yamaha (stereo equipment)
Clarion
Asus
Seagate
etc...

I'm a repeat buyer of all these brands, and I'll continue to be until one of them burns me on a product...

Pepsi
Cocoa Krispies
Sony (video products)
Dell
Levi's
Crucial (as a company, not really a brand)
Timberland shoes
Intel

I'm a fanboy, but not for everything.

some things don't need to be changed!

with cars, i will only buy a few brands.

with computer parts for example, i'm not too picky, i just won't buy cheap garbage.

If the product or service, delivers what it promises, is good quality, reliable and a good value then I'm definitely a fanboy.
