I was a boy scout for a few years but decided to quit when my troop leader hung himself in his garage. 🙁

Yep. Got it in January 98 as well in Portland, OR. For my project I made a pamphlet about earthquake preparedness and delivered it door-to-door to about 1500 residents, using a team of about 100 people.

However, now I don't know what I think of the Boy Scouts-- This whole anti-gay thing has me pretty pissed off. In fact, i think I might make a poll about this issue... watch for it soon.
 
I built Screech Owl nesting boxes and installed them around the Soos Creek trail out in Covington (dat's da sticks, for all of you city folk), WA.

Any OA elects in here? remember getting tappd out? wasn't THAT an experience! 😉 mannnnnnn, that was sooooo serious back then! 😉 I felt allllllll kewl and special! 'til they put me out in the woods by myself! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

another question...has it ever got any of you a job over someone else? A TON of people have looked @ it and gone, hey kewl..you're an eagle scout! I know some people who would really like that...and that's the last I ever hear of it! thoughts???

I am an Eagle Scout too, Troop 491 SGVC in Southern California (1997)

I am also an OA Elect, it was pretty fun and interesting, but i got too busy with other things to play an active role in it.

I'll always be an Eagle...but who's ever gonna be like...so...how many palms did U get? huh? 😉 hehehehe
 
OA, yep. I was really into it and made my own costumes and everything. I even had this buffalo/medicine man costume that I made that was able to shoot fire out of the arm cuffs. At the start of the cerimonies I would walk out to the front of the campfire bowl, raise my arms in the air and yell "Silence!" then fire would shoot out of my hands. It was the shiat! All the little kids always looked like they were going to wet themselves. I made it to Brotherhood, but never was interested in Vigil. BTW, I got Eagle Scout when I was 17.5 (at the last minute).

i have a buddy that just made eagle. i wish i got into boy scouts. he told me you get to play with guns for one merit badge......
