Last I checked religion was thriving in the Middle East, more specifically Islam. So relgious prosperity = more nut jobs = more crime?

While minorities prison populations are large, the ones that are incarcerated and arent atheist more than likely did not follow the tennents of their faith. That failure led the bahavior that landed them in jail. See quote above.
