I once had an Office Manager that was also the accountant and handled pay checks. One pay period she decided to change the way I was paid (was originally paid ahead of time) without telling me. So I get my paycheck shortly before my rent is due and it's something like $200 instead of $1200 or whatever it should've been. I go in to talk to her and ask her what in the world is going on and she informs me of the change. I said, "If this was YOUR paycheck, wouldn't YOU like to be informed ahead of time so you could prepare for it?" and she actually had to THINK about it and finally replied, "Well... Yes...". I then asked for a small advance until my next paycheck (this was a rare but accepted practice there) and her response was "What have you done to deserve it?".

I couldn't believe it. I almost started screaming at her. Luckily I had documented hours for a project that allowed me to get a large enough advance to pay my rent. Still pisses me off when I think about it.
