I did for awhile, but I always kept a PC around for games. Now, that my Mac is a bit long in the tooth, I almost never use it except for imovie-iDVD. The 2 big drawbacks of the Mac platform for me personally are the gaming thing, and lack of "tinkerability" compared to the PC.

Still a Windows user here, won't be making the switch for at least another 5 years. Just bought a new laptop and any desktop is going to be custom built for gaming. I considered a MacBook but went with a Compaq because it was much cheaper.

MACS. CAN. USE. TWO. BUTTON. MICE.

They even ship with a two button mouse FFS, and you can use the third party mouse as well.

Most of the computers I have run GNU/Linux. I am going to migrate another box over soon, leaving only one windows computer (and that will dual boot.)

I use both. I love my Macbook Pro for school and work on the side. My main rig is XP though as I am a gamer. Thinking of getting a mac mini though for the living room possibly. I like their products and they are usually smaller in physical size then their competition

I have been using my macbook (hooked up to my dell display, model m keyboard and logitech mouse and speakers) exclusively for the last week and a half and see no reason to go back to my windows box.

I use only mac for the most part... I had to use visual studio last semester, so I had to boot into XP every week or so. But now that I'm using g++ and emacs... there is no need for XP.

I'm using a MacBook Pro / C2D / 2gb RAM / 160 GB HD / 15.4"

No. I have a mac but I don't use it. I actually prefer Windows XP to OS X.

I was the same way when I first got my macbook pro, I was always in XP, I have since pretty much cut it out of my life. (other then at work)

After finding a number of awesome programs, I have a hard time going back to XP, because there is always something I want to use in OSX.

Didn't you get the memo? Current Mac hardware systems _are_ PCs. :p

One of the Unix Admins at work couldn't stop talking about it, so I tried it out on my laptop. I loved it, so made it my firewall/nat box too....

I'm a hybrid..

PC with Athlon XP 2700+ runing Windows Media Center (My PVR) and 20.1" Dell FPW2001.

Recently go a Macbook Pro 2.33Ghz with 2gigs ram. It runs OS/X 10.4 with Parallels hosting Windows XP SP2. Its one sexy bitch.

I also have a 30gig iPod Video with the iPod HiFi. Great speakers. If your not into super loud with mega bass, but crystal clear sound, the HiFi rock.

It's pretty stupid to pay a hefty penny just to move to an operating system that removed the features you've recently deeemed 'unnecessary'. How about you stop finding an excuse to spend money and use what you have? What does a mac have that a PC doesn't for webbrowsing? your arguement would be a lot more compelling if you were just going into computers but you're not so you're just looking for an excuse to spend money.. Your system is perfectly fine for webbrowsing and doing other 'light tasks' so why bother trashing what you currently have for something else to do the same thing?

You know what this is analogous to?
Example:

I drive a BMW M5 2002 model, it gets 25/22MPG, it's a really great car, nice features, runs fine, gets me laid and everything but I'm considering getting a honda civic. I saw a honda civic the other day and it really impressed me, has some cool features, gets 30mpg, and because I'm married now and I don't drive fast like when I was a kid, I'm thinking of selling my M5 and getting a civic instead as thats all I really need anyways...

I use Macs & PC's both at home & at work, but any time I have a choice I'll use a PC wether running XP or Linux ... sorry but despite being very familar with them (or maybe because of it!) I just HATE the Mac OS.

Not quite.
More like PCs w/ EFI.
They still are propietary enough that we can't get OS X easily running on our custom builts ;)

I have an iMac+Parallels. I only boot up XP when I need to do something that is Windows only, or need to test something.

Ideally, I'd like a Mac Pro+Parallels. But it's just a bit more power than I need... that's where Apple is missing a product line, for the computer enthusiast.

That doesn't change the fact that Intel Macs are PCs. So in response to your original statement, Mac OS X runs perfectly "decently" on Intel Mac "PC hardware".

Apple's decision not to release OS X for any other PCs is a separate issue/complaint.
