Interracial relationships don't bother me. In fact a couple of my girlfriends have been black.

I'm mixed myself but it goes back a few generations to pre-Castro Cuba. I've got Chinese and African blood mixed in with Eupopean/Spanish and I'm proud of it. I'll tell you this much... I think my siblings and I are geneticially hardier than many because of it. I do have AB+ blood, which could be the result of the blending of races.

I am in an 'interracial' marriage myself if you consider a very white White marrying a Hispanic/latina a mixed marriage. I know his family considers me a different race, lol! There is some culture clash we have to deal with, and I do have to ignore some of my racist in-laws, but other than that, I like being a multicultural family. I do live in a nice suburb but it is a mixed one... I chose it because we have a really neat blend of all kinds here but I know some people would not choose it because it is multicultural.

Variety is the spice of life for me... I adore the interchange of art and ideas.

This is sorta OT for this thread, but I was watching a documentary about neanderthals and cro-magnum and how scientists think they co-existed at one point in time. Now we're talking 2 entirely different species of humans. All humans on earth today are homo-sapiens. Try to imagine being face to face with another human, but not of your species, one that looks, thinks, and acts entirely different from you. Scientists aren't even sure they would have been able to mate with each other, had they wanted to. It's mind-boggling.

As far as my thought on topic, I say if there's love, I have no problem with it. :)

What does it matter the skin of ones color?! Who cares what society thinks? I think only matters to the people in the relationship.

I am in an interacial relationship. I am asian and my girlfriend is columbian. I can tell that it is a hard concept for some people to grasp, because when I tell people about my girlfriend, some are a little hesitant on how to react. My mom is a little hesitant also, but I think she realizes that it's best to look past racial matters. Anyways, when I meet a person, the race is the last of my concern. Racial barriers are what cause negative stereotypes.

I have nothing against interracial relationships, however, as far as marriage and kids are concerned I'm not going to mix that. I don't look down or any different on people who do but for me I can only see my wife of one color.

We all bleed the same.

We all fall in love the same.

Love is not colored.

<< Big supporter of interracial relationships here.... I am almost certain that I will marry outside of my race. >>

Are you Purple? Are there no other living members of your race? I have never Know anyone to Look for interacial relationships just because it was interacial.

<< eh? where do u live that it is a question i live in california.. guess we're really diverse already so no one thinks about it just think halle berry hehe yum! >>

Um as someone who grew up in San Diego If you think there is no bias against interacial relationships you are either blind or stupid. I have seen first hand how people treat Hispanic/White children (my neices). I am just glad that they were to Young to understand. My sister told her daughter that that lady was Stupid. Also in the work place I saw it and in the complexes I lived in. There are insensitive people all over and EVEN IN CALIFORNIA. The majority comes from the NON-WHITE side though.

<< What does it matter the skin of ones color?! Who cares what society thinks? I think only matters to the people in the relationship. >>

Yes and No. I truely think you should follow your heart in matters of this nature. However don't be suprised when people don't like it. You really shouldN'T let what morons think interfear with your life.
EDIT BOLD

<< The children of interracial couples often time grow to be more physically attractive than the members of any one single racial couple. >>

I'd have to agree, since that describes my kids! :D

I once found a parody website for the "Bi-racial Superiority Party" claiming bi-racials were the superior race - the site was created by a bi-racial high school student in Canada. Parents of bi-racials, even if not bi-racial themselves, would be 'honorary bi-racials' and all sorts of stuff like that - very funny.

Having a racially-mixed marriage (Caucasian/Asian) in the suburbs in the South, I don't think we've had a single negative experience. I know lots of mixed couples, and it's hardly unique any more, at least in my area. It's like when Asian cars first arrived here - seeing one was new and different at the time, but who looks twice at a Corolla anymore? Of course, I think some people's attitudes depend on the mix as well - white/black may still catch more stares than white/Asian.

Not in my neighborhood. I am not much on racially mixed relationships. I guess it is my southern upbringing. Sorry just don't think it is right.

<< There's only one Human race on this planet. Asking whether interracial relationships should be possible is like asking whether people with dark-blonde hair should be allowed to have a relationship with people with light-blonde hair. It's just ridiculous. >>

Well said, I totally agree.

It is none of our business what choices persons make in their lives. It's also not our place to pass judgement.

I'm a latino from LA and my wife is white, from Alabama. We've never really had any problems, except from her brother but he's a moron. He claims to his friends that he doesn't like blacks, but rolls around with Jay-Z thumpin' in the trunk. I almost forgot that a girl from school once confronted my wife about our marriage and asked how she could be a Christian and marry outside her race. Of course it doesn't matter because my wife isn't a Christian, which she told her. I guess the problems only really show up when you're talking Black & White.

When I was a kid my best friend was white, his mom was white, his dad was black, and his brother was black. I actually never gave it a second thought.

I'm a Chinese Canadian, born and raised in the Prairies. My wife is German-Scottish. Our kids will be talking in Cantonese at their highland dancing lessons.

what happened to the 9 people who answered no to interracial marriage? I guess it's so much easier to hide behind an anonymous poll.

love is love. i rejoice when i see any couple, any mix or match. if they are happy and caring it just makes me smile!:)

and as far as that If our society was more open minded I would love it bit...society will not become open minded by all of us sitting by doing what it wants us to do. the minds of the people can not open untill they are shown the truth! do what you know is right, let them deal with their stupid preconceptions.
