Well?

Oh yeah, and if so are you musicians? It seems that the only people I meet that have even heard of them play some kind of instrument
themselves.

Yes, they are fvcking awesome. Best prog rock band ever. Everyone in that band is like a master of their instrument.

Yes I play the bass.

They aren't so good anymore. I really love Awake and I&W, but everything else...just doesn't do it for me. I think the loss of Kevin Moore really hurt them.

Well... Kevin Moore was so dark, all his songs were depressing. Rudus is a much better player anyway.

can anyone recommend me a song similiar to Home? I just listened to it again and I wanna know what else there is like this 😀

Well... If you liked Home, which is on "Scenes from a memory" is really a sequel (the whole cd) to a song on Images and Words called Metropolis part 1.

They made a concept album that was a whole part two to that one song, so I suggest Metropolis Part 1.

Also get:

6:00, Pull me Under, Take The Time.

If you need help finding these tunes, let me know I have ... resources 😉

There is a ton more too, keep me posted on what you liked/ didnt

Metropolis Part 1 is awesome 🙂. I got hit with a barrage of IM's so I would've responded sooner/downloaded more but I'm just getting back to Kazaa so I'll keep you posted, but so far so good 🙂

Technically, Rudus is amazing. But his style just doesn't seem to fit. Awake was a darker album, but I liked it's whole vibe. Met Pt 2 was also darker, but I just couldn't get into it. I can't really put my finger on it.

I love DT, and play guitar. I'm a recovering tuba major also. Kevin had some great songs (space dye vest for example), but I think jordan is a bit better. His style seems to flow with the band a bit better. Kevin was dark, and Jordan is less so. At least nobody has tried to argue that derek was the best (HA)!

The Glass Prison and The Great Debate off the new cd are good.

The eighties called, they want their Dream Theatre 8 tracks back.😀

JK, I remember when they were kind of in, in the late eighties early nineties, but I always kind of thought of them as more or less glorified studio musicians.

Dream Theater is quite possibly one of the best bands of all time. I agree that every member is a master of their instrument (with the exception of LaBrie) and their capacity for creating such addictive, profound songs is unparalleled. I do not play an instrument as I am tone deaf, however. 🙁

By far my favorite band. The 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence CD doesn't do it for me though. Maybe they're getting up in years 🙂

No, I couldn't play an instrument if my life depended on it.
