I have 28.8k on my laptop... it has a 56k modem, but it has never connected above 28.8. Cable and DSL are not available.

Hardware Load Balanced with Automatic Failover, both school ethernet (which I administrate) and comcast cable.

I own your poll.

I also have failover 56k that can connect at 52.5

I'm never offline

56k at home. I don't use the internet there enough to justify the price of cable or DSL. Mostly the wifey uses it to play and shop.

I had to once go back to dialup becaue i didn't check first if an apartment complex had broadband (I figured downtown tempe its gotta have it). well it didn't and I was stuck on 28.8 for 6 mounths (needless to say I got out of that place as soon as i could when my lease was up)

now i'm back onto cable :D

I have dialup, 26.4k sometimes uber sweet 28.8k.

it takes me literally years to browse the forums.

at home this is my typical connection at school I have a ethernet something like 412k last time I checked it with one of those connection meters.

i've heard about some places in europe where they are getting insanely fast DSL lines for cheap... why not here in the US?

My in-laws have to, cable is a mile away, dsl is too far from co. Their only choice is Satellite at $80 a month. For their usage it'd be a waste of time.
