I am actually conducting a survey for my class on forums and groups and the uses of it. I was hoping that you guys could please respond back as to what you use this site for. Do you use this for work? Do you use it for personal reasons? What are your feelings about this site? And finally are there any other groups that you are a memeber of.

I use this forum for enjoyment and relaxation as well as learning. I actually do learn a lot on even though there is tons of neffing🙂
 
I use it to meet all the sexy girls, and to tell people to DROP out of school and become a retarded porn star. Plus, the occasional NEF.

People with too much free time like me, sometime I get so stressed out I decide to go out fishing, hanging out in the mall, shopping, or whatever that take out stress instead.
 
I use this site for computer help and entertainment.

I don't really use this site for work.

Personal reasons? I suppose 😕

My feelings about this site: It's a great place to get help, kill time, and there's a great distributed computing team 😉

Any other groups: not other than the distributed computing team.

I was referred to this site by a friend. At first I used it for technical information such as reviews on hardware. Now I use it for everything. I don't use it FOR work but while AT work 🙂 Just love to browse through topics and see if I can help anyone. I LOVE this site so there are my feelings. I am a part of several others but only bc you are required to register. I cant remember where though 🙂
 
I started for work (univeristy research) reasons. I wanted to know the release date of the P4 based Xeon chips. (I started looking in the beginning of 2001, they were released in May of 2001). I've stuck around for my own enjoyment as well as help finding odd parts for my research.

Note: I didn't actually post until May of 2001 to get more info of the Xeon chip - but I was reading since Feb 2001 or so.
 
I stumbled onto the forums after being an avid AnandTech review reader for years. I liked all the motherboard reviews on the main website. Kind of miss those 🙁. AnandTech is the only forum in which I remain active. I think I've posted a couple times at 104.7 The Edge and that's about it.

I come here for laughs...to get under the skin of some members....to wonder in amazement at the stupidity of others....to catch up on some news...sometimes for help...sometimes to answer a simple question for someone else...

I use it to have people to talk to about things that I am interested in, such as discussions and debate that my friends can't provide. I also try to learn things (mostly from the HT forum).
 
Thanks a lot folks. Please keep the response coming. Its quite amazing to see how many people actually use this site. I wonder if anyone has actually met on this site and then gone on to a relationship or something....you know like the movie "You've got Mail????"
