Poll: American Pie (original) or Planet of the Apes (new)? Score to settle!

Myself and an un-named member of the boards are having a little dispute. I say that one of these moviesis a better movie than the other one. I know they are different genres so the question is very broad: Which movie is better? I am not posting my preferances to remove bias from the answers 🙂

He has yet to see one of them; I've seen both.

EDIT: Remember to answer poll!

EDIT# 2: This is the Original American pie (couple years old) vs. the new planet of the apes

American Pie is better. Planet of the Apes just plain sucks. All you see is apes jumping around and fighting. Planet of the Apes (original) is wayy better. They really put much more thought into it to develop a tightly woven story. That was the best!

oh wait...are we talking Original Planet of the Apes vs Original American Pie or New Planet vs Original American Pie?

The original American Pie was better than that monstrosouty they made the new Planet of the Apes.....but the Original Planet of the Apes was much better.

I voted Planet of the Apes, but I was referring to the Original Planet. If you mean the new Planet of the Apes, then American Pie is probably better....it's tough though both were pretty damn horrid...

the new planet of the apes was so bad. such a dissapointment. i voted for american pie: the lesser of the two evils.

The New Planet of the Apes was horrendous. I've seen better scripted B-movies! In the light of that, American Pie wins by default.

Nearly anything would be better than that horrible Planet of the Apes (not to mention the undeniable appeal of Shannon Elizabeth nudity). AP gets my vote.

11/8 since somebody admitted erring in their vote and votes can't be changed.

Whats wrong with you people? You really found Planet of the Apes more entertaining than AP1? I'm quite dissapointed!

this is a bit of a twisted poll. Shouldn't it be old planet of the apes vs. the new one and also first AP vs. the second AP? We're talking two different genres here if you're comparing AP to Planet of the Apes. Anyways.. give me a good scifi movie over a high school sex comedy any day of the week. The original Planet of the Apes rocks all three of the movies.

Planet of the apes wasnt worth the time it took to download it....
They could have gotten a better script from a bunch of third graders.

Most certainly, the old planet of the apes was awesome!
But the new one is bad bad bad...it's like Phlu said, the new Planet is so so bad...it's a default win for AP1...

Albeit the apes looked really POS er POA was nothing but one long chase that sort of sucked. Even a bunch of high schoolers like myself could do that and have without a budget or real actors (see link below).

But shameless selfpromotion aside, this comparison is basically moot. American Pie is a comedy and although it may have had a poor plot it had something that those apes cleanly lacked. The apes were not funny. Highschoolers trying to get laid however is about the funniest thing Hollywood has to offer these days. Thus my vote lands in the less recent Ape movie, American Pie.

In finale, the only way that I could concieve "Planet of the Apes" winning out is if people did not realize they were voting for the Burton version.
