btw, i have a question: is American Pie dedicated to someone? Like a plane crash or something? I remember reading that somewhere (and the song itself has alot of lyrics like that) but I dont remember the details.
Yes, the "day the music died", when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper were killed in a plane crash. I believe this is what "the three men I admire most, the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost" is also referring to.
that is correct, the plane they were in was called "american pie" also there are allegories to the beatles, rolling stone, the bible and tons more, its an amazing song.
Both songs are classics in their own right. In fact, I remember when both were introduced.
Those were the days...... cheap gas, wages and beer. No internet, and computers needed punch cards. Had to physically turn the dial on a telephone. 8-track tapes were all the rage.
Even though I love Stairway to Heaven, I gotta go with American Pie.
