i mean look at the pictures, this was the first thing that i thought about when i saw the chip...LOL. it looks like they renamed the K62's and plopped them on a motherboard. i'm glad they finally found a use for those things. 🙂

heh, yeah, i thought the same thing 🙂 they reprogrammed their k6-2 batches to work as a northbridge.. that's how they're makin so much money, savin on the fabs 😛
 
That's just a heat spreader, nothing more.

I would also assume that that chip/spreader is MUCH smaller than a K6-2 was, do you really think they're going to give up that much real estate?

Actually its probably at least as large as the K6-2, after all, the 760MP chipset northbridge has over 1000 pins.
