Do you consider somebody who cracks racist jokes for laughs, like myself, a racist prick regardless of if you think they believe what they say or not? Some folks joke but aren't really joking, but many I know joke because for certain groups of people it's funny.

What do you think

I lol at racist jokes. Well, funny ones anyway. An unfunny joke is unfunny, racist or not.

I'm messican if it matters.

The problem is that you can never be sure your audience won't take the joke in a racist way. So, to answer your question yes, you are "a racist prick."

Depends on how often you make them, I suppose.

If you truly don't believe them, you aren't a racist. However, you might come off as one if people THINK you believe it, or at least a milder version of it.

you are responsible for what you say. Doesn't mean you are racist, but could mean that you are a prick, for example, if you aren't smart about it.

Post the jokes so we can judge them. Hate the joke, not the jokester, unless all the jokes suck.

this

I make racial and stereotypical jokes all the time, but mostly with my Army friends, many of them of that ethnicity or stereotype too. :p We all laugh and give each other shit all the time.
Or, any racial jokes that are kind of half my feeling, half just making cracks... are not really about skin color, but lifestyle. Thugs, the ghetto, etc etc. Just so happens that the ghetto's here in Columbus and back home in Toledo are mainly of one skin color, or are broken up in sections of the city.

So if someone that didn't know us overheard our conversation, I'd probably look like a racist motherfucker. I don't give a shit, mainly because I'm pretty proactive about needing to get rid of ethnic classification, and move to pointing out lifestyle choices, because those are completely changeable. ;)

I think they're funny. It doesn't make you racist, but I think to some degree... if you find it funny, you have to be at least a little racist.

Especially if he was cooking fried chicken and drinking purple drank.

I guarantee you'd both only bounce once before passing through the door. My kitchen isn't a democracy. I'm a professional who doesn't tolerate anything that belittles any of my co-workers.

he better be bringing his own purple drank, cuz if he touches my drank, he loses fingers. I make my own purple drank, and I'm almost out of purple!
