It's either Senator Hillary Clinton or Ali G for our high school graduation in June. It seems a lot of my friends want Ali G. Personally I've never heard of him(her?). Anyone know who Ali G is?

We also can have Rudy Giuliani but he's washed up. John Kerry is also a possibility.

We had Kofi Annan last year, Bill Clinton and Chuck Schumer the year before, and Jack Welsh three years ago.

btw my high school is Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, NY

He is hilarious - now, he probably won't have a lot of valuable things to say, but then again, who really listens?

Ali G is a comedian. IMO not a speaker appropriate for that sort of setting.

IIRC, Conan was a graduation speaker @ Harvard a few years back. We wouldn't mind a comedian.

I was at the graduation ceremony with Kofi Annan last year and he seemed to be advertising for the UN instead of congratulatiing the graduating seniors.

Do you guys "get" Ali G's humour? I'm just curious as it seems very different to the humour that you're "used to" over the pond :)

conan graduated from harvard though, and he's a really intelligent guy (believe it or not). Despite having some conan humor, his speach was actually relatively profound and appropriate.

Would i want Ali G as my speaker? more than likely not, though i wouldn't mind hearing a comedy bit by him live.

are you joking? Rudy Giuliani is washed up? Actually, Giuliani is a great leader and helped change NY tremendously....try thinking before making blanket statements out of your @ss

Giuliani

He's still a NY legend as far as I'm concerned and I'd love to hear him speak.

What kind of High School do you goto that you can get someone like Bill Clinton to speak at your graduation? That seems a bit overkill.

Even though Ali G is hilarious... I don't think that is a good speaker for graduation... hmmmm actually we had a boring speaker at our graduation (bx sci ;))... and I can barely remember that ... so maybe a comedian would be better... if you do get him, make sure he does his Borat character instead of Ali G... Borat is so much funnier :D

Ali G is the way to go. Those speeches are so lame anyway. I think it would be awesome to watch him give a speech and gauge everyone's reactions. People who take him seriously should have their diplomas revoked.

I LOVE ALI G!! The Ali G show is the funniest show to come on TV in a long long time. He just makes people feel as uncomfortable as they can on camera, it's genious.

Don't pass up a opportunity like this to see Ali G. Do it! It will be awesome! AIIIIIIII!

Rudy would be a great choice. I see him running for Prez in 4-8 years. He's a fantastic speaker. You wouldn't be disappointed with him. If you're going to school in Manhattan, you already know the great things he did for NYC. I've been into the city a few times .. both before and near the end of Guliani's time as mayor. I couldn't believe the difference. He really cleaned up NYC.

John Kerry .. all you'd get is a lecture about how Bush "stole" another election and what life was like when he was in Vietnam.
Hillary ... a rant about how evil republicans and evangelical christians are.

Ali G ... if you find ebonics funny, go for it.

of course he's intelligent. his characters have so many dimensions, and he comes up w/ some of the wittiest remarks on the spot. he's extremely talented.
