Hmm, I wasn't aware of this; I've only used Ad Aware until now, but I think I'll get Spybot as well to make sure no POS malwares are hiding in the dark recesses of my computer. :Q

Actually I saw a segment about them on techtv yesterday...it was proven that Spybot is better, catches evertying AdAware catches and more.

It seems to be a bit more thorough and has updates more often.

I really just meant that I like the interface a bit better, but it's true, I've noticed that it seems to catch a bit more than Adaware. Often it's just left over registry keys though...

I've only ever used Adaware before. I'm considering trying Spybot though (running it after I run Adaware) to see if you guys are right.

Definatley both.

Adaware gets updated more frequently.

But there is no reason not to use both.

That is not true. I have run Adaware immediately after Spybot and it has found stuff.

Vice versa as well.

Use BOTH.

quick question, when you guys say updates to adaware, are there update files, or do you just donwload the entire program again?

or do you uninstall and then reinstall, or can you just install and it'll auto overwrite.

EDIT: nevermind, i see there's an update button within the program.

Both but Ad-aware is updated more often then Spybot,I also use SpywareBlaster which is also an excellent program that blocks most spy cookies.

I just use Adaware. It has served me well for years and I'm not about to turn my back on it now.:)
