Poll: About how long is your commute and do you drive stick or auto...

Out of all of my commutes (counting school and a few part-time jobs), my commute time was less than 15 minutes and I drive a stick.

Auto, the convience is well worth the fuel economy drop.

It's not worth the fun drop....

My commute is only 15-20 minutes, but I don't mind being in traffic with a stick. I dunno about the other guys here, but my right leg hurts long before my left! And stuck in traffic driving my dad's automatic Taurus was worse. Standing on the brake seems to cause muscle cramps or something.

I have an auto right now, and live 2 miles from school. But in July I am getting a new car, and going to get a stick. But I still hope to live under 15 mins from grad school.

why does commute distance have anything to do with auto/stick? if you have a long commute, odds are most of it is spent on freeways anyway so no shifting involved.

What kind of new car, which make/model?

My commute is 110km, which takes me just over an hour.

I drive a stick, and wouldn't consider otherwise. 🙂

between home and school it's about 45 min or so, i drive a 96' camery that my rents have for the commute. gets better gas milage than my truck 😱

I am looking at getting either a Civic or a Lancer. Only cause right now I have about a 15k limit. It's just to get me through my 5 years of grad school, and then hopefully I'll have a real job and upgrade 🙂

Hahaha, yeah I am leaning more towards the Civic LX, the only good hting about going from Mitsu, is thier payment plans, and the no down payment, no payments for a year. But since I want to pay the car off in 5 or less years, it might be stupid to do it. Not sure yet. I have driven civics before and liked them, but never a lancer.

If I got a Lancer, it would only be in yellow though. It looks dumb in any other color.

if you get the civic, get it with a stick. I just sold my 01 Civic, and the automatic tranny in it SUCKED DONKEY BALLS. Going into second, it would bog down big time, sometimes it would shift at wierd points. Good riddance!! enjoying my $4300 99 Camry now

I don't commute, but a friend of mine (airline pilot) lives down here in Salem county, NJ (across the river from Wilmington, DE) drives up to three times a week 120+ miles to Laguardia, JFK, and Newark airports. He drives a 1995 Mercedes E300D.

Yeah Mitsu does have some incredible finance offers going on right now.

I think no payments for 1 year.
0% APR financing

Some dealerships are even offering free gas for 1 year.
