I play at 1024x768 with 4x AA and 16X AF Quality settings with everthing maxxed on a 9800 PRO

Why play at such a low res, when you can play at 1600x1200?

how are you even able to aim on that resoution (guy with 19" monitor speaking)

If you can't aim in 1600x1200, I think you need to invest in some glasses. It only makes it easier for me to aim because everything is so perfectly small and accurate.

same here.. too bad my 9700 can't handle 16x AA and 6x AF @ 1600 x 1200.. shucks. Higher resolutions are better than smaller ones because they also allow a greater FOV and vast amount of HUD space.

Depends on the game, but usually I have it on. I'll only turn it off if the game doesn't look good with AA on - the Homeworld games don't work well with antialiasing, as the text is almost unreadable. I always have anisotropic filtering on, usually to the max level that it'll still give me acceptable framerates. Otherwise, most games, I have FSAA on (usually 2x, sometimes 4x, again depending on the game), and anisotropic to anywhere from 4x-16x.
Card is Radeon 9700 Pro.

Yep, as I said, with the ability to there is no reason not to, but my point is that some people, like it or not, don't use either for either personal reasons or performance reasons.

I like to run with no AA, I prefer AF at 16x perfomance@1280x1024 on my LCD,I was never a fan of AA anyway.

I don't buy a 300+ video card without them enabled! I run 4x AA/ 16x AF Quality in 1024x768x32 @ 85 Hertz . I get 30-60 FPS with those settings in UTK2003 so I'm happy.

No particular reason, I will bump them up and see what I am missing🙂 I guess I have been depriving myself.

i personally don't like it if the framerate drops to around 40 or below, especially in fast paced games like ut2k3. i'd rather run at a higher resolution than use aa/af. However, in older games like the original UT, Q3, half-life & its mods, i definitely use it.

ditto, the performance hit is pretty big on my 8500. My brothers 9800 on the other hand runs with all the goodies turned on.

I use a GF3Ti200, I don't run it. Makes the games too slow. Though, for kicks, I should enable it, and play CS with it. I bet it'll run decently then.

It depends on the game... but in general I play them at 1024x768x32 Max Detail, and if I have some margin, I use AF.
GF FX 5200 128 Mb @310-570.
