Okay, then don't you feel Palin looks weak in walking away from her governorship and hypocritical in her stance on Hillary Clinton complaining about being treated too harshly?

\you can answer this can't you?

I thought I already addressed this. Sorry, I didn't read the other thread regarding your point.

I believe that nothing good can come from Palin's political career with her actions and decisions of the last 5 days.

"Sara Palin - hurfdurf! You're scared of her because she represents most of America, people with values, people that can fix this country from the direction we're headed."

Have you made a choice in the way of a third party candidate?

Obama = Carter.

I think most educated people know this to be true. He's headed for worst president in history toppling Carter and most thought that wasn't possible. But it is and it's going to be.

I love how you mention 'educated people' and then think that Carter was the worst president in history. He wasn't even close to the worst.

Exactly how educated is someone about politics when they think that the Bill of Rights somehow can't be altered, anyway?

I'm not sure. But this thread has drawn out the leftist circle jerk like flies to shit. And it's just poll results of somebody who has no influence. It's like a bug lamp - they can't help but be drawn to it and be zapped.

And if you remember I said "I think". It's what we educated people (who understand the limitations of our knowledge) use as a qualifier to make a statement of question and not a statement of fact.

You are misinformed. I believe you are an idiot. I also believe you are uneducated.

Okay, then don't you feel Palin looks weak in walking away from her governorship and hypocritical in her stance on Hillary Clinton complaining about being treated too harshly?

\you can answer this can't you?

I would say that she doesn't look like any more of a hypocrite than Obama.

From November 8, 2004:

"You know, I am a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job. And I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who might be comfortable doing that, but I'm not one of those people."

Then, when interviewed by Tim Russert on January 22, 2006:

MR. RUSSERT: When we talked back in November of '04, after your election, I said, "There's been enormous speculation about your political future. Will you serve your full six-year term as a United States senator from Illinois?" Obama: "Absolutely."

SEN. OBAMA: I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start looking for new ways of saying things, but my thinking has not changed.

MR. RUSSERT: But, but--so you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?

SEN. OBAMA: I will not.

It's a two party system! Vote for Kain or Khan. Don't throw your vote away!

I'm not backpedaling at all. She hit on the base and her recent decisions were not the best for her political career. There's another thread where you can discuss those decisions. The topic at hand is she identifies with the wants of people that understand responsibility and taking control of their own destiny. Firm pillars of freedom loving people everywhere.

This is exactly why politics are so broken in this country (not just only limited by the Messiah). Politicians get to blatantly lie and get away with it.

-edit-
I'll save you the trouble...see how I said "I'm pretty sure?" That means I am not totally sure, ending with a question mark. Do you know what a question mark is?
"I'm pretty sure you can't touch the Bill of Rights?

-edit-
crap, I thought you said 2nd
"

Well consider me the messenger then to tell you that your opinion is completely unsupported by the facts. If you actually bothered to read my post you would see that I said you 'thought' that the bill of rights was untouchable. Of course that's obviously factually false, but that you would even have that question in your mind says an awful lot.

I graduated from a top 10 political science program and now I'm in a grad program for it in addition to working for a $1 billion defense contractor. While this obviously doesn't mean that my opinions are RIGHT, to say that I am uneducated is once again not supported by the facts.

Needless to say I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over the opinion of my education by someone who doesn't know how the constitutional amendment process works.

I said that she doesn't look like any more of a hypocrite than Obama, then proceeded to post clear examples of Obama's hypocrisy. Feel free to interpret that however you like.

This. I suspect Palin's being kept in the spotlight by the mainstream media because she makes the GOP look incredibly bad, and she's such an easy target. She's the GOP's Sharpton. But there's NO WAY she gets the nomination in '12. People with a functioning brain will sober up by then, no doubt.

There's no way even the Republicans would vote for a quitter when it comes down to the Presidential elections

Do you have any polling numbers to support your statement about Ms Pallin's approval ratings?

I sincerely hope that the GOP does not let Palin anywhere near the 2012 election. Speaking as a centrist, it sure would be swell to have two, or more, semi-decent choices to pick from when we go to cast our votes that year.

What a crazy concept.

You tools who have pledged your undying and unconditional love to one of the two major parties have fucked up this entire country.

Much determines how the poll was worded.

Palin has the national attention - there is no other Republican that is on the stage at this time.
That will skew the results.

And we know how much the Dems fear her:D

For the millionth time, we WANT palin to run. She's a walking trainwreck. Also, 'values' seems to be a euphemism for incompetence, laziness, and ignorance... basically bush, palin, and the GOP base.
What is worse, having her run and win or not having her run? Depending on how poorly Obama does in the next 4 years, GOP could steal the election.

I would state a good American would not want her to run period.

Poll: 71% Of Republicans Would Vote Palin For POTUS In 2012

The actual poll.

As is often the case, the thread title is misleading. (Only 35% said "very likely", and "very likely" doesn't even rise to the level of "would vote" for Palin.)

Once again Fern, no. The thread title is not misleading at all. No reasonable person would take the title to mean '71% of people predict with certainty actions they will take 3.5 years from now', and so it clearly expresses the willingness of Republicans to vote for her.

The thought of that woman representing America's interests to Russia, Iran, Iraq, Venezuala, etc, scares the hell out of me. Bush should have shown everyone that having some average Joe in the white house that you think you can relate to is a horrible idea. I want a leader who would make me go weak in the knees when they walk in the room, and Palin only makes me want to puke.

So you don't fear her, much like you don't fear expressing your opinion in the Obama detention thread. Got it...
