My birthstone is a Diamond so Ha! no escape for anyone... but then again i'm not a girl so what are the chances of a girl getting me a diamond ring?...lol... i'd go for either one actually... but the diamond looks more expensive. just wondering... where are you getting this? Tiffanys? Get ready to shell out cash... girls just love showing off those little blue gift bags.

EDIT* I found it at Tiffanys... wow... not bad for that price... considering where you're buying it from. There's a platinum version of the diamond ring but it cost $550... uhhh i'll stick with the silver for now...

I'd say it depends on how typical/traditional of a girl she is. If she's fairly non-traditional then she'll probably love the sapphire more. If she is more of a "girly girl" and likes all that traditional mumbo jumbo, then she'll probably like the diamond more.

My thoughts, as well as my fiancees are on the sapphire. It is just more exotic and elegant.

Even though I think the diamond looks better, as someone said before, don't get your GF a diamond ring if it isn't going to be an engagement ring. She might get the wrong idea and then will be disappointed when you tell her the truth (Speaks from experience).

So get the sapphire one.
