God, why is everybody so down on Gailey. He inherited Juaron's many years of fuck-ups and bad draft picks. Buffalo went into this knowing it's a rebuilding year. They may be 0-7, but there has been progress made. You can't walk off a coach after 7 games into the season no matter the record. If this was season #2, then yeah, I'd be on the same page.

Buffalo is a doomed franchise until everyone gets on the same page. We heard reports about how they weren't going to trade Trent Edwards. Then they did. We heard reports about how they weren't going to trade Marshawn Lynch. Then they did.

Both of those examples go beyond lying for purpose -- Buffalo came across as an organization that didn't / doesn't know what it wants or how to get there. Their failed switch on defense is another sign that things aren't going to be getting better there any time soon.

Well, he and his D Coordinator did spend all of OTAs, training camp, preseason etc installing the trendy 3-4 defense even though it was quite obvious that their linemen were too small and their 'backers were too slow, then scrapped it after only a few weeks, therefor wasting 9 months practice time.

You either recognize that you can't run a 3-4 with your current personnel and run a 4-3 or you say "Dammit, we're going to be a 3-4 team" and trade out personnel through the draft, waivers, trades, etc.

Chan Gailey did neither of those.

He also was very underwhelming as the Cowboys' coach in the late 90's. He's one of those retread failures that starts with a very short leash to begin with.

If I remember right, Gailey led the Cowboys to the playoffs both years he was head coach. Explain to me how that is underwhelming?

Fox's contract wasn't renegotiated because it's been pretty well known that this is his last year here. Why he lasted this long, I have no idea. He's a horrible horrible coach. But Jerry Richardson seems to have a problem with being way too loyal to his staff and players. He let Delhomme stay around way longer than he should have also.

I absolutely despise Fox, and I've been waiting and hoping for him to get the boot for a few years. For the last 2 years, I've been rooting for the panthers to lose every game, just so Fox would finally get fired.

Is Jerry Richardson still intensely involved after his heart problems?

Do you know what's up with the org?, I'm thinking of Richardson's sons leaving the organization unexpectedly and pretty much without explanation.

What the heck is really going on with the Panther organization?

TIA

Fern

They should have gotten rid of Wade after they went 0-3, they would have still had a chance to jumpstart things.

I don't think Childress is too bad of a coach.

Shanahan doesn't have #7 anymore. And he's batshit insane.

As far as I know, he's recovered just fine and is still involved. But nobody really knows for sure because he rarely, if ever, talks to the media or the public. About the only person that ever speaks to the public is Fox and he never has an explanation for anything.

So the only source of info I have is the local sports media. According to them, even though nothing official has happened, Fox leaving after this season is a sure thing.

Somehow I knew you would say this. He does need to be fired for the spectacle hes made the vikings.

It's just sad now. This whole season is a sad spectacle.

It's annoying; I've watched every snap of every game except the Detroit game because it was not playing anywhere here, and we have been in every game. Even when we lost by 10 to the Pats, we still had a chance and it being close like that it seems to be it's the poor decisions and silly mistakes that are killing it for us. Many of them have been from Favre, but you also have to kill Childress for not only many of his stupid decisions (not going for it with time left at the end of the half for example) and not being able to at least attempt to reign in your Quarterback a little bit and this whole Moss debacle...good lord, I mean that has to fall on him and it's not like this has been the only season for this.

Sure, we are deficient in other areas (apparently we can't stop the run anymore) but cutting the head off this monster would be the first place to start in my opinion.

Ugh.

I almost want tj to come in and play for a full game just to see how he's improved. Nothing to lose at this point.

I'm almost there, but Favre did look very good before leaving the game against the Pats. If we can beat the next two teams (Cards and Bears) and we can beat the Packers after their bye, then we'll have a good chance. If we lose against the Bears, we could be done and then you may as well bring in Tarvaris.

no playoff wins

Your point? Buffalo went to the Super Bowl 4 consecutive times without winning. I don't recall anyone asking for Levy's head on a platter. At least Gailey made it to the post-season, which is more than can be said about a lot of coaches.

It's the fact that he was coaching a team that recently had a lot of post season success and are used to it, no wins in two trips, plus an owner like Jones = him getting canned. If he was in another city, i doubt he would have been fired that quickly, why is that so hard to see?

I love that confused look Wade always has on his face when something doesn't go his way.

Oh yeah and he's definitely leading the pack by a wide margin for first to go.

I always hate the "Fire the coach" when a team does poorly. Often, it's NOT the coach, but the spoiled prima donnas on the team that are the problem...BUT, it is still the coach's job to try to meld them into a team...

One thing about firing so many head coaches...unless they just get recycled to other teams, where are all these teams gonna get replacements? Sure, some offensive and defensive coaches may get the nod, but then, those coaches have to be replaced...We're talking about a lot of coaching personnel here...and they don't just hang out at Home Depot waiting for a job.

I could hear Jerry Jones screaming from the booth at Lambeau down here in Milwaukee about a half-hour ago. I think he might of slashed Cris Collinsworth's tires on the way out too lol, it's all Collinsworth was talking about the 2nd half of the game.

A ha. Now to see if Jason Garrett was truly responsible for the offense, or if play calling will actually become decent. All the coaching in the world won't fix a weak offensive line though.
