after playing around with multplier setting FSB settings and core volts the best i can do is 1223.4mhz my current settings are mult 11 FSB 111 and core volts 1.92 attemts to increase any of these settings results in lockups or no moniter any idea`s

im running a hedgehog with a delta fan artic silver paste case open seems stay cooler that way 41C full load running rc5 for load test

Hmm... what mb are you using? The only way you'd be getting a 41C(CORE, not measured) temp is with a case ambient of around 14C.

Chances are likely that you're running in the 50Cs for Core temp, and even though that temp is fine for t-birds, your chip has probably hit its limit.

I have a kt7 raid mother board before i installed the chip i bent the thermister up just a little and put just a touch of thermal paste on it my computer room is quite cool about 62F i live in michagan and work out side so i like it a little cooler im just a little disapointed that i have already maxed out my chip would better cooling help (water peilter)

Hmm... your temps are a tad low, but not much. its probably the limit of the chip, or the l2 cache on the chip.

I would be very satisfied with a 1223mhz overclock. How much were you expecting

when i first started looking at ocing,overclockers.com hade a couple of guys posting there rigs at 1335 and 1350both water cooled seems a little dangerous to me, figured when i was ready for super cooling that i would try a peltir straped to my hedgehog or a swiftech (already on order without peltier)

My ambient case temp is 12C and my cpu is running at 24C.



Why my case is so cold

thats a nice idea puling the air from the out side pretty cold up in the north country this time of year tryed somthing simaler my self althougt not so hi tech. 2 nights ago we hit 2- (i live in MI) so i put on my jacket and opened the window in about 15 minutes my temp went from 41C to 33C full load needless to say the test didnt last very long

For which chip is that?
If its the t-bird 1.3ghz, your mb is still heavily underreading cpu temp by about 15C too low.

P.S. This is because socket-thermistor's and secondary heat pathway measurements are more effected by ambient air than pure core temps.

I would agree with you, but this a special instance.
I have fans blowing the cold air directly across the HSF as I write.
It's a fairly accurate reading. The outside air is currently -11 degrees C. Currently the chipset is 12 C and the cpu is 24 C
The cold air is hitting the cpu first in a steady stream. The ambient air is being heated by that. The top of the heatsink is actually cold to the touch and warms towards the cpu.
Kinda neat really

It is the 1.3 GHz that is being reported.
BTW it's on a MSI K7T Pro2-a motherboard.

Hey Kat22,
It only cost about 60 dollars to do.
During the summer I have a shroud that fits over a small airconditioner. The room is cooled after the air travels through the pc.
I also put insulation around the tubing. Those pictures are from early fall.

If your Ambient case temp(not MB temp, it is lower than that) is around -3C, then your cpu temps are being "approximated" okay.

BTW, I heard that the MSI K7T pro2a doesn't have a socket Thermistor. what does it use to measure cpu temp?

Oh, and NO SOcket A board is accurate. Some "can" be good at "approximating" cpu temp, but that doesn't mean they're accurate by any means.

are there any condensation problems ,like with a
peilter, esp after you shut it off and the room begeins to warm up, summer is somthing that i have begein to think about as my computer room is on the second floor of my house, im sure my tbird isnt going to like the 90+ degrees this room sees in the summer.. guess i will have to run the ac all summer becase i plan to run rc5 24/7

hay i have one other question i have an old nec 166 that i oc`ed to 200mhz how do i get them to share an internet conection for up loading and down loading rc5
