Poll: 18.1" LCD for PC or subwoofer for HT?

I'd go with the LCD .... if you are moving into an apartment, chances are you won't get to turn the volume up really high anyhow.

One relevent factor, would be, what type of woofers do your regular speakers have?

I ask this, because my speakers have 15 inch woofers, the little 100 watt 8inch sub I have is pretty much useless ....

if you have big woofers on your normal speakers, and if they are able to reproduce the low frequencies properly, then the Sub is not really a priority IMO ...

I got 4 of them for $60 and a $45 shipped receiver off ebay to power them. You need some speaker wire and you need to have an RCA cable to run to the receiver (or plate amp), but that's it... well... that and mounting hardware to attach them to your furnature.

I wouldn't recommend them for music, but if this is for a HT application, they're pretty fun. The best part is that the vibrations are almost totally limited to the piece of furtature it's attached to = no sub complaints.

I was getting some complaints from my SVS PB10, so now when I watch a movie, I turn the sub down a bit on turn on the shakers. I still get the rumbling and kick effects without having the sub up high enough to make my hair move 😛

Kaido just got some and is using them without a sub if you want to get his opinion too.

There's a really big thread over at AVSforum about them too.

While I'll agree that these things are cool, they are not replacements for a good sub.
