I am building a web page and I would like to know what resolution people run in general. Please take one second and vote :)

If your resolution is not available, choose the next closest one.

What about us poor ppl that dont have room for nothing bigger then a 15" (not long till thats out the window though)? :(
I probably run my lil 15" at higher res then most ppl do with larger mointors :D

At home I run 1152x864 on a 15", only because my monitor won't do 1280x960 above 60 hz.

Here at work I run 1280x1024 on a 17", only because 1280x960's not an option & it won't do 1600x1200 above 60 hz.

So, it seems that many people runs at higher resolutions.

Are you confortable with viewing smaller text on web pages ? or do you actually enlarge the text size on your browser?

Gee wiz, this is the third one of these that I voted in :)

14" 1024x768
17" 1280x1024
19" 1600x1200
I turn the size of everything down and would go higher if I could.

800x600 here, no need for anything higher, well unless you want to get real close to you monitor.
I would maybe go one step higher with a 19"

What is the advantage to having a higher res? besides a little less scrolling in some aps.

The original question was about building a web page, i think you should stay at 800x600 or 1024x768 as thats what the majority of web surfers are using, acording to visitor stats anyway.

Yes I still use 16-bit. There's not enough of a reason to go to 32-bit on the desktop yet.

What are you talking about the exact 4:3 resolution?

1024 / 4 = 256
256 * 3 = 768

4:3?

1280x1024x32, tried higher resolutions but they are too small on a 17".

BowDown:

1024x768 is a 4:3 resolution.
1280x1024 is a 5:4 resolution.
The correct one would be 1280x960. :)

I am asking this question mainly for text size on web page.

I am building my web on 800*600 size. I am planning to use 10pixel text size which is great on 1024*768 resolution on 17 inch monitor. But it might be too small for some people on 1280*1024 resolution.

This is why I would like to know how many people will be looking at the webpage at the text size that I want them to look at.

Well. Thanks for all the responses ! You guys are great !

1024, but then again, I have two 17" at home anf two 19" at work. So, technically, it's 2048x768x32. :)
