Politically for the Democrats which would be better for them in 2020? Having Trump in office or havi

Looking at the fundraising that's occurring for 2018, it seems having an unpopular president is mobilizing a a much bigger portion of the voting base. Were he still the president in 2020 and just as unpopular, I would think it would be an even bigger push from the left.
If Trump was impeached and then removed from office, what kind of response do you think we could expect in 2020? I realized it is unprecedented.

Nothing is certain now. I am sorry to say, though, that I think the Democrat party is just as much in thrall to corporate masters as the GOP, and will make at most a token show of changing. Sanders will be betrayed and used up, and likely die regretful that he was not allowed to help heal the nation. Dems will run another corporate center-right figurehead, and may or may not win; if they do, it will be solely because of how bad the GOP looks now, not on their own merits. The US is finished.

they lost the supreme court for 70 years. They fucked up and fucked up hard.
Yup, all the people mobilizing at this point can go fuck themselves. They better be on their knees every night praying to their deity of choice that RBG can hold out long enough.

Technically, they haven't lost the Supreme Court. If Democrats grow a spine, they can pack the court.

I don't think the Republicans are looking good in 2020 regardless of whether or not Trump finishes his term. If he's impeached (however likely or unlikely that is), Pence inherits a permanently tainted administration. If he completes his term, people see more of his damage and unfulfilled promises.

This isn't ruling out the possibility that one helps the Democrats more than the other, just that it might not make the difference between the Dems winning or losing.

It doesn't take RBG. It only takes Kennedy to have a solid footing, which is going to happen at some point.

I have to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to what a 148 year old Clarence Thomas looks like.

I think another Obama type will be all it takes to crush Trump. Obama would have likely decimated Trump. Big contributors to Trump's win are probably a wholly lacking in charisma Hillary, Russia's help hacking and dumping emails of Democrats - spreading insane conspiracy theories and the momentum of wanting a 'change' from the current party.

Find another relatively young individual with the sort of charisma Obama had when campaigning and it should be relatively easy after four years of Trump disasters and scandals to oust him. He's not growing his base, which is already a minority, and the notion of him gaining more support seems far-fetched with how disgusted most people are with him. 70,000 votes went the other way in those those key areas and he would have lost. Shut down his Russia hole card of interference, stopping the fake news conspiracies is likely impossible, his crazified base is primed and loves that garbage. A focus on locking down against hacks and revealing the ugly internal machinations of political campaigns should be there.

The only way I see them losing is if they make a poor choice in candidate. Hopefully they pull through, or Trump ends up arrested/impeached, either one so there is no longer a deranged fool with that much power available to them.

Trump. Investigate him, drip drip drip. But don't impeach. Tell voters if you want to get rid of Trump you have to show up in 2020.

If you continue to set high, unrealistic expectations you will continually be disappointed.

Pence must be calculating if supporting Trump any longer is going to bite him in the arse in the long term now. If Trump is going to crash and burn Pence is going to have wanted to have cut him loose as early as possible.

He should be finished. The evidence against him is damning.

Parties are paper constructs, their masters folding them into mishapen origami mockeries of considered thought and action.

I don't care how any of them do. I want what is right for us as citizens and people and screw any sham political histrionics.

Get the hell with the program or get out.
