Polish couple tries to take selfie, falls off cliff

"They would have had to cross a safety barrier in order to reach the cliff edge..." And, there you go. Read "Death in the Grand Canyon" sometime to learn how many foolish people have met an early end in that place. Those poor kids have a hard road ahead.

On the wall of my cubicle, I have a small Polaroid picture of me standing right at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher. There is a tiny, muddy little ribbon of a trail that runs along the very edge of the cliffs, and leads to Hag's Head at the Southernmost tip of the cliffs. It is a treacherous, slippery, narrow path that often slopes toward the edge. There are signs near the path forbidding any kind of access, and telling you that you will die if you go beyond the signs.

I'm smiling in the picture, but when I look at it, I remember only how terrified I was, and how thankful I am that I didn't slip off the path and die that day.

Seriously, if you have young kids, _think of the children_ before doing anything. Won't somebody please think of the children??? How about their parents?
 
That article was too long for me to read. Can someone give me a shorter version of the story with limited details so I don't have to read the whole thing?

The article was dumb and went into what a selfie was, the history of the selfie, and then a summary of people who died taking them. Here are the cliffs of this particular situation:

1. Girl walking in city late at night decides to take selfie of herself.
2. Climbs up on bridge railing.
3. Slips, falls, and hits supports.

EDIT: Sorry, I wasn't paying attention and thought I clicked on my thread about the girl who just fell off the bridge. The particular incident in this thread:

1. Family is in Portugal on vacation.
2. Mom and dad decide to ignore safety fences and climb over them to take pics.
3. Mom and dad fall off cliff with kids watching.

You want to take a pic like that get a quadcopter and a go pro or small DSLR on a gimbal. At least if that falls you can replace it.

I don't know whether I feel more sorry for kids who lose stupid parents or for kids that don't and are raised by them.
