A passerby saw a black man with a crowbar working on a stopped car. She called police. The police caught the car and pulled the man over. After telling him to get out they tackle him and arrest him for resisting arrest.
The problem, he was the owner of the car. He had been trying to fix his car when the passerby saw him.
When the police told him to get out he got out, put his hands up and stood there at which point they tackled him and hit him.
Oh and if you were wondering what this potentially visicious car thief does for a day job, he's a PHD engineering student at Northwestern specializing in: "nanoparticles and oxide surface interactions for applications in catalysis and energy-related applications."
So much for just do what they say and everything will be ok. Luckily the resisting arrest charge was thrown out.
Police training seems to be lacking in some, many, precincts.
